My friend makes longboarding for a living, what he does is that he burns the graphic in to the wood, either it be tree or a sky or pandas, then he puts water color on it, then he pust this type of gloss or somthing so the color stays even if it gets wet, if you have any other questions just message me

wow. i'm totally freakin out... because i ordered an oldschool deck this week, and was gonna paint it.. and i was gonna paint a tree, sky, or two pandas.

the new sharpie waterproof super ultra duper permanent paint pens are the shit. pretty cheap, ultra waterproof, and pretty colors!

i used stencils on the last one i did. unless your a pretty good artist, freehand stuff probably wont look so hot, and you need tools to burn the designs into the wood. spraypaint and stencils. when i did it i decided i liked the design on the bottom of element's "polar" skateboard (cuz its a sick sick design. but dont go stealing it, i stole it first. and im a bbbaaaad muthafucka)
so yeha, find a design you want/ like, tape pieves of paper together to get a piece the same size.shape as your board, sketch the degin on the paper, us and exactod knife to cut it out., then make smalled stencils for diffeent details etc... then buy spraypaint (make sure you get the right kind though, check to see what it sticks too) and spraypaint them on. dor shades, layer a lighter colour on a darker one, or use a very light spray, from a distance etcc youll figure it out

hey i too build longboards, and there are way, way to many ways to doo good graphics. my suggestion is to go to www.silverfishlongboarding.com its like the NS of longboarding. in the forums, theres a forum called board building. there you will find all yout answeres.
buts some personal suggestions of mine:
fabric: cotton fabric prints can easily be epoxied to the board for a sweet, easy graphic
spray paint and stencils, if done right, they can look just like screen printed stuff.
rice paper prints: you can print graphics on a special paper like rice paper, and then wet it out with epoxy and laminate it to your deck.
whatever you do, ge some type of strong clear coat, Urathane is Really good, but takes a while to dry, polyurathane resin, or polyurathane clear coat. just make shure its not crap. this is where you spend extra to get the good stuff. id reccomend urathane. oh, and i dont know what kinda ridding you do, but if its mellow surf style skatting, and nothing too aggressive, a Silicone grip job is a good idea. not only is it 100% clear, but it really dampens the ride, and gives pretty damn good grip (as long as it isnt wet) plus it last a long time. hit me up if you have any other longboard questions, id love to help!
