Longboard help!!!!

best 4th post ever! im glad that someone who knows their shit took time to write in here...i could not have said that info any better

Depending on what you're doing here are my top 3 for each:

DH:

1. Hellcat

2. Evo

3. demonseed

freeride

1. Drop speed

2. nemesis

3. hellcat

I personally own a hellcat and a drop speed, they are at the top of my lists, because i find they ride the best, as well as many of my friends (I skate with all the Rayne, Landyachtz team riders). For wheels Lime bigzigs are a good bet, or Orangatangs, which wear MUCH quicker. Trucks, go bear, very carvy unflipped, pretty stable flipped. INVEST IN LEATHERS if you want to do DH, it's completely necessary unless you want a skin graft. I'd also like to note that if you are tall, you can ride a demonseed all around, but it's huge otherwise.

"Go for the Evo. Unlike what numb nuts up there said, it's not heavy unless you're a pussy. I push mine down in Denver all the time up to like 4-5 miles and it's not bad.

From what I've heard, the Evo is a better DH/freeride board than the actual DH.

Go with the Evo."

don't gotta hate, just because you decide to cruise around denver on a heavy ass board doesn't make you a badass. Just because you can push an evo around on the flats for 5 miles doesn't mean it's fun or that anyone would want to. Try skating over 15 miles in a single night in Phoenix in 100 degree weather and 70 % humidity. That doesn't make me a badass either though, it's out of necessity, so stop pretending you're the shit.

Anyways, dropthroughs are just as solid at speed as a drop down (landyacht style), except that drop throughs carve much much better, the Raynes look sick, I still reccomend Lush.

you can't go wrong with either. the dh race has been the fastest board ever raced for years and now the evo is inching in on it.

My take on abec 11 wheels is as follows: Decent wheels, best wheels they produce imo would be the fly wheels. Very buttery slide, even with a soooft duro(ex. 78), grip when you want and break out when you want. Of course that depends on the rider lol. I'm not sure how they wear, but personally my choice of wheels would be either Otangs, Bigzigs(Lime), S9 race formulas which I highly reccomend. Reason being for this recommendation is that they are center set wheels. If you don't understand why this is important it is because wheels with off set hubs will cone very quick (ie otangs) if your s9 race formulas start coning, you take em off, flip em inside out and BAM you can cone them back to a flat surface, and repeat, repeat, till your wheels are fucking cored. Or if you can find some, some landyachtz kryptos because they're buttttter. But they've stopped being produced.
