Yeah, got it today and watched it. Again, I reiterate my saying that this years movies havent been as good as other years. The editing was ok, but its definently not a 'get you amped for skiing' movie. I think my main complaint was the music. Total crap, and I usually like what Berman puts out. The first 15 minutes was honestly just boring because of that. Better music would have made it so much better. Use songs with a good beat next time.
And I like that Berman tried the whole 'two skiers sharing a segment' thingy, but again, doesnt work for me. I have no idea usually who the heck is hitting what in those, and it breaks up the show of the riders individual style. Its nice maybe once and a while, but its really hard to follow, especially when you've just been introduced to each riders style. Trip segments work like that, for example, the Japan segment was excellent.
Only three of the segments really worked well in my opinion. Vanular, The Japan Trip and Liam's. Aside, whats up with Biollo's segment, the frame rate seems messed on mine...?
Overall, I liked it less initially than Ski Porn and Corduroy. Corduroy is still the best overall movie I've seen from this year, with Ski Porn close behind, but this is behind those two in ratings so far. Maybe after a few times it'll grow on me like Ski Porn did.
