Long(er) skis

This has probably been already debated but hear me out. ive heard short ski are easier to spin with and all around easier to ski with, the only thing is that im 6'1 and my 1080 are 181,im looking at all the guys my height and they all have short skis. should i stick with them even though its going to be harder to ski with or should i consider going shorter?

im 5'9/6'0 i dunno which one and i have 179 pe's...its all preference.....yes it is easier to spin with a smaller ski...but u should be fine with what youve got...its a matter of balls

ya *not trying to be just like the pros and copy them and shit* but if you watch a vid and theres a shot of them hiking the pipe most of there skis are a little taller then them....well from what i've seen, im 5'11 and i ride 179 seth pistols and someone told me that a 179 pistol is really like a 185 other ski because the way they measure pistols i have no idea if thats true tho

yeah long skies is where its at. The volkl reps tried too tell me that I should get the shorter skies. I think that they forgot i'm 6'2' 200 lbs and can bend anything you give me.

IM 5'10 and i ride 168's, but i regret not getting a longer ski. Next year i think im going 175-180

^168 to 180 might be a little shock to your system...but you'll get used to it but its good you've seen the light and decided to go longer

 
when in doubt go longer. last year i made the mistake of going shorter and i really regret it. i mean, it doesnt make a huge difference or anything, i can ski fine but longer would have made things easier.

 
umm thats only 12 cm's and if he is a good skier it wont be a problem at all.

i went from 175 RPs to 179 seth pistols and at first i felt a real big difference....maybe its more of the ski being different then the actual size

 
i was thinking like 177 to 186.

i jumped from 163 to 170..thats almost 17mm!

dude i rode thes raw ass lil skis, ther called snowblades or sumthing. i was huckin 1260 cock rocks and grabbin my ankles in front of my boyfriend. should i cut my hair short or keep it long. stop bitching about length and go spred eagle for u guy friends in the lodge. god i hate skiers!!!

 
i went from a 150 last season to 181 madtrix this year. honestly i didn't feel a difference at all. i would never get anything shorter than 180 now. they are so stable. i did grow almost 7 inches since last season so that might be why

it doesnt matter if its easier to spin. it will all look better, and smooth slower spins are cooler anyways, and makin it look good is what its all about. i mean, if you can do a nice ass slow 5, its way better than huckin a 1080.

yeah dude, i have 169's. im 5'10. for my next ski's im gonna go up to at least 175-180. if i keep progressing this way, by the time im 30 il be rocking custom built 290's with the craziest steez ever.

Well I am 6 feet tall and I ride 181 1080. They are way more stable then my lsat year 174 Scratch FS. I they feel super good.. And it looks cooler when you spin. I have seen kids on 151 1080 who are 5'6 and it just looks really stupid. I love how shops told people to buy 160 if there 6. They were like you need 160. I was like go to hell. I want 181.

^ im more like 61/2, but i was comparing to people who are my height but are skiing with 160 to 170, around that length. 181 is only slightly smaller than me.

^well you see, where i come from powder is a rareity so of course it would be better if you had long skis in 3 feet of fresh white stuff.
