Long ass ski?

To all my lanky fuckers on the mountain: what skies do you ride? I am 6'4, and I ride 181cm volkl revolt 95s. I wanna get a new pair of skies for the season, but i would really like to get some longer skies, to match my proportions. Any suggestions to what a good alternative is?

Im 6’3”. I ride sereval skis.

I have a pair of DPS wailer 99 tour1 that are 181cm, CT 4.0 that are 181, head venturi 95 that are 178 and Rossignol Scratch that are 174cm.

i found 181 is a good length for powder and getting in good turns, but its not too hard to find 185s if you think you need them.

I’m 6’7” and I ride 192cm Armada JJs. They’re good skis, but the more I lift and put on weight theyre getting a little bit soft for what I want.

another consideration is you can make up for some length by going stiffer. so if you can't find a ski that's quite as long as you think you want, a stiffer ski will help support your taller frame

Fischer Ranger 108 - 202 cm

Volkl Shiros 118 - 203 cm

Kastle FX HP 95 - 189 cm

I'm 6-4 and like long skis I hate the feeling that you might go over the handlebars. The Kastle's I should have center mounted though I put them 1cm back and can't really flex them like I would like to. Its very disappointing that companies are making skis shorter and shorter.

can't really blame them though, long skis just don't get bought nearly as much as shorter ones

also 6’ 4” and i ride 184 on3p magnus 102, and gonna be on 183 wides this winter. def wanna try out something longer in the future like a 189

6‘4 and I can’t imagine riding anything shorter than 185 except the few days a season I ride 164 slalom skis. Even for touring I use 189, kick turns can be tricky but I got used to it

6’3 and I ride Ben chetler 100, 180cm. Not sure what type of skiing you do but mine are mounted right between factory and center and they are great for park and powder, they work well for my height.

I don't think this is the case. With how rockered the skis are becoming there are a lot of folks out there that can handle more ski at an expert level. My Volkls ski long and the Kastle's too bc I didn't mount them where I should have to really get that pop out of turns but the 202 Rangers ski like they are 180s with the shorter turn radius and rocker. They are stupidly heavy with frame bindings and not really great at anything. I'd love to put that frame set up on something else close to it in length in that same 108 range.

I think lots of people would love to try some of the current skis in the market in a 198-200 range and feel like strong skiers over 6' that weigh a little more would as well. Plenty of dudes are over 6'2 or weigh over 220 lbs. They're forced to buy the same shit a guy who is average height but rips would. Lots of dudes are in the 5-10 to 6-1 range.

Why the fuck can't Volkl make the Katana in 196 anymore like they used to? People are really buying out all the short offerings I don't buy that.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately, I would love to try some modern skis in the 200-205 range

191 Kartels, probably should have gone 186

186? Moment Commander 98s. Much better length.

at 6"4 the 191 kartels are perfect for me. only issue is the weight fucks w my knees sometimes

I mean I'm with you, i love longer cruise missile skis (regular katana all time favorite probably) but the fact is, in the scheme of worldwide ski sales, 160-185 cm ski sales kick the shit out of 190+ sales. Most skiers aren't big and experts. If that's not the case, why do you think we don't see them as much? It's just supply and demand

I'm 6'4 and anything shorter than 190 just feels off if there's any fresh snow. ON3P skis are measured to true length so 191 is like 194 for any other brand.

6'2" living in CO, I don't go under 190 in anything if I can help it. I mount most skis +1 and truly believe the extra tail helps on big drops and not getting bucked OTB. Moment makes most everything in at least a 190 and for my personal style find that really gels. 194 Commander 108's make me drool but I don't weigh enough to seriously drive them. 191 Renegades are the truth for deep days, absolutely love that ski.

(im just over 5 foot) I had 155s forever and sucked ass, got 177 wets, skied for 1 day now i ski instantly better

I love long skis
