London Riots

The nice thing about England is you can at least have a somewhat civil debate about the matter on the news. Sure, they'll usually have some dumbass just shouting moronic arguments (was the editor of the sun, a tabloid "newspaper" last night)... but you can at least listen to various ideas from completely different people in the community without the interviewer interrupting everyone and spouting their news-channels official opinion on the matter.

They had every right to go apeshit on the cops that night. The cop was later charged with manslaughter (should have been straight murder...)

Think of how apeshit LA would have been if Rodney King had been MURDERED.. I'm surprised a cop car being set alight was the only serious thing that happened that night in Oaktown...

He basically asked us to break the law for him, and then went ripshit pissed at us when he didn't get his dumbass way. What a douchebag.

Just heard on the news that RIM got hacked. The hackers threatened to release the addresses of RIM employees if they worked with the police any further.
 
You do realize institutionalizing people will take further tax dollars and still contribute nothing to society right?

If you think it is 100% welfare slugs that are the cause of this problem you are very naive my friend. Obviously any unproductive member of society that doesn't reciprocate productivity needs to be dealt with. However, there is a much bigger picture, not your emotional talking points that are only relevant to your life because of your obvious anger at the situation given the status of your step sister. (ie you have an emotional bias and using terms like 100% when a problem obviously isn;t 100% one factor).

because to me it's pretty clear: people who don't take care of themselves or their children because they can rely on the state. This forces the burden onto the responsible citizens. What else could it be? I'm dying to know.

Anyone who thinks destroying other people's livelihoods are a means of enacting positive change needs to die in a fire they set.

I would not feel the slightest bit bad if the rioters started getting slaughtered by the police. The rioters are pure scum and the world would be better off without them.

I couldn't believe what was coming out of these stupid fucking girls' mouths whilst my friends have had to board up their homes to avoid getting mobbed.

Protest is about standing against an issue and if someone says that looting in Birmingham, Manchester and Salford has anything to do with a protest in Tottenham about a dodgy police action then they've seriously underestimated the ability of people to be greedy and self serving.

The riots are just that riots. NOT protests. Anyone who tries to equivocate the actions of a few deliquent members of society with genuine protest are demeaning every form of peaceful demonstration in history.

I heard an interview on BBC Radio 4 this evening with a 17 year old girl in Liverpool and her reasoning for looting was (and I'm paraphrasing):

"We have to do this to make money because the only other option is to do some training and get a job."

THAT is the kind of person who is wrecking businesses and burning cars. It makes me feel sick to my stomach.

Elaborate? Is it because in my opinion I think people who riot and loot and destroy people's property are trash? Is it because I wouldn't shed a tear if they got what in my opinion, they deserved for being said trash? Explain why you think this stance is ignorant. The rooters in Vancouver were idiot trash scum, just as those in England are. You protest causes. Rioting is detrimental in every way and does everything to destroy reputations and reduce causes while destroying many people's lives through acts of terror in cowardly manners.

If I'm not mistaken, England has a huge censorship problem, they can't even make fun of parliament on tv. If the youth have absolutely no voice how the fuck are we supposed to look out for ourselves. I think there would be better ways to handle it than rioting but there are too many injustices in our world in this day and age, it's impossible to get a foothold on life when the established system works against you.
 
Riots are more of a punitive expedition tho against the people with money, not every business owner is a money hoarding prick.
