Back to the topic in hand. The riots which have started else where are all down to people jumping on the bandwagon just to see if they can cause some crazy shit in their home city/town.

I heard on the local news this morning while at work that people came down from London to the city I live (Canterbury) just to start a few car fires then go back up to London. And the point of that was??
 
Well id just have hoped that the police would have used more force (only a little bit more). Im only going off footage from the news, but they just seem to be stood about, whilst rioters set the place on fire.

Having lived in London for 2 years before I can safely say that England sure knows how to take to the streets. Meanwhile over here in America that only happens if an opposing baseball/football/hockey team wins. And even then its just a bunch of drunk college kids fucking waving their cocks around.

i got involved in a football riot. well not involved but i was in the stand. pretty much 80 guys broke the fold back chairs in the stand and then the police boxed us all into a corner.
 
Man I am really bummed the citizens of my country decide against general fucking shit up and looting, I wish we were as cool as these fucking pissheads.
 
A little bit of dissent, used correctly, is important... (not suggesting these riots are the correct way to go about things).
 
those "fucking pissheads" are rioting for a good cause. What else are you going to do if your fed up with the way the police and the politiciations are running your country? sit in your comfy little home and complain about it?
 
Organize a protest and fuck shit up under one unified banner. Attack only government/corporate institutions...

All this rioting will have accomplished is to increase police presence and control in all future protests/gatherings in England; and allow the government/media to release more propaganda and bullshit, picking out scapegoats to blame the failings of society on.
 
Ok well lets say I was pissed off with the government and after exhausting all possible nonviolent options I would gather a big mob of like minded individuals and focus on these specific areas.

-Police stations

-The Parliament Building

-Buckingham Palace

-i.e things that would actually be a show of force to the government

this looting and destruction only detracts from their message and makes them lose support from the local population.
 
Most of these people are attacking corporate instutitions. The ones that are fucking up the mom and pop stores i can understand. But i have friends over in England who say the big stores such as Woolworths, WH Smith, Tesco (corporate buildings) have been burnt and looted. Also attacking government institutions is near impossible with the number of rioters vs police force. Do you know how many cops are posted up around the Houses of Parliament to make sure noboby trys to do anything?

This wasn't an organised protests. Its a bunch of chavs who see an opportunity to get some free shit and are taking advantage. They have no common cause... apart from perhaps a loose one of common hatred for the police.
 
lol by riot you mean revolution as in we kicked your tea sipping asses back to england with a significantly smaller force. Never said anything about a shithole. theres just shitheads ruining honest peoples lives right now in your country brah, we used our nukes twice and almost a third time on multiple occasions. So have fun rioting and destroying working peoples livelyhoods cause you're mad at the government. I'll chill in my police state that donates billions of dollars a year to other countries helping them out that isn't an empire and refused to be ruled by a country thousands of miles away that was THE world superpower at the time and kicked its ass.

I 100% blame the benefits. (and the awesome european cell phone tech, who could resist!)

I have a limey step sister, she's in her 30's by now, neither this bitch nor her mom has worked a single day in my lifetime.

If we stripped the LAZY of benefits they would either be forced into work, or crime (which is alright because we can institutionalize them) at a much more gradual and manageable rate.

Instead we have repeating generations of leeches, do you think these the kids who are rioting have parents who care? Doubtful, they probably just ask their kids to bring an extra cell phone home.

lol at that.....some people are really fucking stupid, talking shit about how the US is more powerful and has more guns and nuclear warheads, you also have a massive dependence on oil that you can barley afford now, give 20-25 years when you are paying $600 a barrel of oil, you will be unable to function as a country, you are going to have to change your way of life fast. I'm not saying that the UK doesn't face this same problem, we do, just not on such a scale that will make it impossible for the average citizen to cope.
 
No one is pissed at the government!!!!

Some guy got killed it was a peaceful protest of about 100 people outside a police station then some hooligans show up start burning shit up and looting. No of them work and are all on benefits, that's why they have time to do this shit. Then they get cocky like yourself on national television chatting shit.
 
Meanwhile, two 18-year-olds were arrested in Folkestone, Kent, and a 16-year-old boy in Glasgow was charged with breach of the peace while another man, aged 18, has been arrested. All relate to allegations of inciting violence through internet social networking sites.

i feel sorry for the good people of England. and hope my family Beckensfield and London are safe and their property undamaged.
 
And once again, my hometown of Oakland, California is still a city that has never once rioted...

But the media in the Bay Area already has had stories on the news saying riots like this could make people in oakland decide to riot.
