alright, im going to say it: this is possibly the greatest album ever. there are so many different styles of music that its damn near impossible to dislike. i know hardcore street punks who love this album so much they can recite it line for line, and even my mom knows some of it. its just splendid. i can honestly say that there isnt a single song on the entire album i skip over when listening to it, and im on my second copy already. the clash make policital statements still extremely relevent today, and they have such a wide varitey of musical ability that any music lover should own this album. either go out and buy it, burn it from someone, or download it. you will find at least one song you like; i garuntee it.

the Elvis Costello/Bruce Springsteen/Dave Grohl/Steve Van Zandt rendition of the song at the Grammy's was pretty rockin

 
i fucking hated the rendition, but im a big clash fan and so ill say its one of the best albums,i don't think it is the best album of alll time though, funny thing is it is hailed as the best album of the 80's when it cam eout in 79 right? only because it hit north america 80's

london calling is definately amazing, but give em' enough rope is pretty close in my books.

Agreed that this is probably the single greatest album of all time. You can listen to it over and over everyday and never get sick of it.

yeah it is diverse; rockabilly, ska, punk, and stuff that isnt even defined. its so great

you want diversity? check out John Zorn's 'Naked City'. it is probably the craziest record ever. actually, no probably about it.

 
i don't know...i think the craziest album of all time might be Murray Head -- 'Chess,' especially 'One Night in Bangkok'
