wow americans are ignorant bastards they think they are the greatest country in the world when in reality one of the worst. Their whole country is a complete disaster.

to me it is literally unfathomable to think that there are people out there, regardless of nationality, that can honestly, possibly, truly believe that america is a better country. canada is just so much fucking cooler, in every single way. USA literally only has more people. which is not even a good thing. everything about canada is better. and we have an awesome reputation, worldwide, in the grand scheme of things, especially compared to america. you literally have a worse reputation than Iraq and the shitholes you invade. and you are almost $16 trillion dollars in debt. not sure how you guys will solve that problem, i just hope you dont nuke the entire rest of the world in the process. and while you guys worry about your inevitable downfall, yes, I will be skidooing and drinkin beers and playing hockey on a frozen lake and my country will directly benefit my life and make me a happier, better person. just admit it.
 
are you being serious right now? do you know how many more people you have than us? id say our population and medal count is more impressive than yours
 
you are one smug motherucker pal. canada is a great place to visit, but i wouldn't want to live there. i prefer the states at the end of the day. when i was living in canada for the last 4 years, a lot of people had the same fucking annoying attitude you do about the states. most of them, had maybe visited once or twice and made sweeping generalizations about the US. and as far as canada being cooler, get fucking real dude. the whole culture is way too bland for me.
 
As a Canadian I completely agree. The culture in Quebec is a whole different story though and very far from bland. Ontario and the rest doesn't have much culture/patriotism as found in the US or Quebec.. This is my opinion
 
also agree. the whole canadiana thing is so weird and boring. half of it has to do with the natives. and all they really do is sit on their reserves and do nothing all day.
 
i agree with you about quebec. that's actually where i was living and that's the other extreme end of the cultural spectrum. no offense to Ontario or BC or even Anglophone Montrealers, but these were the people i went to school with who had this conceited and arrogant attitude about Canada vs the US and I just got the feeling like they had never even been there to experience it. i mean how can you generalize a country of over 10x the size of Canada in terms of population into one single group? that logic never made any sense to me and I used to call them out on it all the time and they would inevitably end up getting all butthurt and were kind of in awe that I was fighting them on the issue.
 
I blame it on the fact that Canada is still somewhat linked to the UK, since we're still in the Commonwealth. Canada has never established itself as a "true independent" country like the US has, so there isn't much patriotism passed along from past generations.

well sorry we have incredible athletes that can qualify and compete. i'd say that 18 medals total and 1 gold isn't impressive. since we had almost 10x more medals than you at the london olympics, i'd say your argument doesn't have much of a backbone

I used to think it fun to argue in these sorts of threads. Then i realized most people here are actually serious about the incredibly uneducated and ignorant things they are saying. Sad, really. Although in a way it makes sense, as those with an intelligent view on these matters stay well clear.

You have a flaw in your claim there... the telephone was invented in Boston MA (USA) even though I get that the people who did were from Canada but they went to the USA to create their invention. The first light bulb was invented and patent in Britain by the British slightly before Thomas Edison so no Canadians were really involved in this. I think you just made the USA look better by saying this. Well done sir
