Logic can not take the place of "Common Sense".

Logic is a formal form of reasoning. Not slang you call pull out to call your buddy stupid because "It's just logic man". You know what logic is? It's a 657 step analytical prolegomena on language. It's Kant, Witgenstein, Aristotle, Russel, and Moore. It's your computer's operating system.

We use language to communicate. Do not misuse language to the point where words are entirely synonymous.

logic may not always be common sense, but common sense almost always is logical. in that sense, theres really no problem with interchanging the two terms.

certainly not big enough of a problem to make a whole thread about

I'm with the OP. I find it immensely hilarious when people use logical fallacies like: slippery slope, red herring, and post hoc ergo prompter hoc and then say it's "logic". Idiots.

but really, EVERYONE uses the word "logic" incorrectly, just like "irony". It doesn't bother me at all. I know what they meant.
