Loft-type thing?

So me and my mom finally decided to go ahead and clean out my basement (which has been full of shit since we moved into this house) to get it finished. I was thinking that it would be cool to put a sort of loft (maybe 5 or 6 feet off the ground?) that we could put a small sofa or maybe some bean bags on.

Anyone ever tried this? Pics or anything of the sort would be much appreciated!
 
sounds like you would waste a lot of space....

just clean it up, paint the walls, new soft carpet, sectional couch, other comfy chairs, big tv, mini fridge
 
yeah pretty sure standard ceiling height is 8-10 feet. Unless you and your friends are midgets its going to be super uncomfortable.
 
Up at school, my boy had a small room, so to maximize space he put a loft above his couch and threw another couch up there, it was baller as fuck, called it sky-net
