Arite, So I have never been skiing in Utah before. Never been to park city, or SLC for that matter. So I am pretty clueless about all of this.I am trying to plan a trip to Alta or Snowbird sometime in Feb. Do I need to rent a car? I am having a hard time finding affordable lodging. When I search on hotwire or kayak most of the hotels that come up are in park city. I googled park city to Alta and its an hour drive around the mountains.

I need some advice here. How do I achieve cheap lodging at alta or snowbird. Where do I stay, and will I need a car. Any other advice is much appreciated.

rather shitty place but we got 7 nights for $230ish last year its 30 mins to alta/snowbird brighton/solitude if the roads arnt snowy. you wouldn't have to rent a car because you could take the shuttle to the cottonwoods although prolly not to pc or the canyons. Sky Harber is a decent place but a bit further away 1876 W. North Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84116 but a nicer place (more expensive). also if you have a big group (6-12 people) you can stay in a cabin type thing right at the base of the cottonwoods the cheaper ones run form like $1200-$2200 for a week usually can get it down to about 150-200ish per person
