I wish i was a local to a really nice resort Like 5 min to 30 min so i could go skiing every day and would know the mountain really well. I have to drive 1hour 5 min 3 times a week to go skiing

if you're only an hour you're still kinda local. I wish I had a room by the kitchen in the lodge at Heavenly. That would be really sweet

 
An hour is close enough and different aspects of heavenly suck. refer to the comment when i said the terrain is the best but the posers are the worst

 
i gotta drive 3 hours up and back every weekend to the place that i ski. stop complaining, an hour drive isn't bad at all.

i live like 20-25 minutes from an alright little resort in the east, i've skied there every year of my life basically, minus 2-3. i'm definately a local

Locals are good, tourists are bad, they may be good at business but wow some of the most aroggant people in the world easily. I'm a local, it's awesome,, being best buds witht he middle aged lifties especially!

But tourists.... ugggh

I was at the mountain and me and a friend were in the lodge eating some breakfast and the girl who does the counter at this lodge happens to be portugese, and she's wicked funny. Anyway some monstrous group of idiots were in line ahead of us and the girl was taking her order and was reading it back to her to make sure it was right, because the tourist woman had a fucking army of kids and you are always supposed to read back orders anyway. The woman goes 'Do you even speak english??' and whatever they got their food and sat down. So I got my food and sat at an open table nearby and overheard the woman, (she was practically yelling) about how bad the service was and she said 'They're all all just spanish speaking imported workers.' (FYI at this mountain non of the workers are timeshare workers) and 'When I was young we would wait in line for those kind of jobs when now they are just giving them to the first cheap worker they can find.' WOW I wanted to punch her in the face.

I grew up in Placerville ca. I lived about 30 min away and I considered my self a local to Sierra at tahoe. Some of these places there's really no place to live.

my friend's got an apartment about half a mile from mammoth's slopes and we got the keys to Plakes apartment which is about 50 feet from the chairlift at Mammoth.. does that count?

Eat. Sleep. Breathe. Ski.

 
Im a 15 min drive from my hill and this is my 16th year skiing there, thats pretty damn local

im like 30 min away from my resort and its were i learned to ski and i havent skied andy were else more than like 2 or 3 times

ok; local= someone who lives within 30 min form the resort and has lived there for at least 7 years. as far as any lovals on NS goes, yes, i am a north tahoe local, i have lived in tahoe all of my life(17 yrs) and live 10 mins from alpine(on a good day w/ not tourist traffic) and about 15 from squaw. plus local student passes are either $5 or free. it's a sweet deal.

it's not how far you travel to get there, it's how often you visit! right now i ski 7 days a week between 2 mountains. one is 20 min the other 1.25 hours, so i guess that would make me a double local.

Why do your skis curve up on both ends?
 
That really isnt that far of a drive. The resort I work at is 1-1.5 hours away, depending on snow conditions. Sitting in a car for hours is just part of skiing, everyone does their share of time.

I'm a Mammoth local for sure. I've lived here my whole life and my house is a 10 minute drive to the mountain.

Girls don't like sensitive guys. Since I don't treat women like objects, I have to treat objects like women.

 
Fuck that, I'm a local, I live 5 minutes from my hill (not really a mountin), I ski all the time, and I also end up hurting myself a shit load more than the non-locals... and they are still better than me.

fucken bastards. im a 6 hour flight then a 2 hour drive to my mountain. stupid ontario, i never should have left van.

I feel bad for people who don't drink, cause when they wake up in the morning, thats the best the're going to feel all day
 
i live l;ike 30 min from my HILL and ive been skiinmg there since iws like 7 and im 16 but i live like 6 hours from any DECENT mountain..haha its pretty bad

 
im a 35 minute drive to the nearest 'hill'. I usually get up about 3 times a week, but i wouldnt consider myself a local at all. I like randall's 'regular' I think im a regular.
