Local OG Ski Celebs that you have the most Respect for.

Not even from my home town (Thunder Bay, Ontario) but a few years back an armada pro, or am can't remember spent a season at my home hill. His name was Laurent Olivier Martin and he was a huge influence on my style. Dane degrutyer is another one from my home town that went on to coach coc.

From my home town (small rural, middle of bum-fuck nowhere) Mike Schimke. In the early 2000's Mike was totally killing it and made it into the X-games. For a kid from no where that only cared about skiing, mike was a huge inspiration. At a young age he definitely made me realize you don't need to be from CO or Whistler or wherever to be a great skier. I don't think mike ever got the recognition he deserved for his skills + style. Unfortunately short lived pro skiing career, but I still get to rip pow laps with him around christmas time.

Does Irvine still ski? I always liked his slopestyle runs back when he competed a lot.

I started coaching this year at my home hill and it's been the illest shit. All my kids are diehards and lit AF.

Teach them to steal flags from jumps

I haven't seen him at MSLM for 3 years. Not sure if he still skis or not.

Jaymo lives in Van area now, mostly fishing/school but occasionally will be up at the Van resorts/Whistler and still kills it with megastyle!

Let's get some love for the people who paved the way in our local ski scene.

My top 3 around the Twin Cities in Minnesota are (Not in a specific order):

1: Craig Weiler

2: Matt Koskinen

3: Steve Janisch (Skier Steve)

All of these dudes have been conestantly killin it since forever and give back in so many ways to skiing. Also, all of them still slay on the reg.

illest OG out of Minnesota that still shreds!

Yeah, Italian guys... Yeah, you haven't heard anything about them before... But trust me, they killin' it!

Denis Battisti (at 2:49) and Martino Longhitano (at 16:02)... Maybe you've already seen Martin on Thunder Down Under

And last but not least: Igor Lastei

Always looked up to the Ski-Block crew at Mount Snow - Jack Borland, Ian Compton, Parker White, Chris Logan, and others.

The Van Boiz are killin it right now at Holiday Valley.

The guys on Vishnu are grew up riding here too, but they were before my time. I also believe Holiday was Corey Vanular's home mtn!

Andy Mahre. In the early 2000's he was doing stuff like 450 on and right-side unnatural cork spins that Idk if anyone else but pollard could do. And if you can zero spin pyramid gap, holy shit no one is doing that today.

Andy's the man! I've met him a few times over here at White Pass. I've hung out with Robby and watched his personal gopro videos, and He's pretty damn good too.
