The Superpipe, shaped like the letter U, will be 450 feet long and 56 feet wide. The 18-foot-high walls will enable skiers and snowboarders to drop in from either side and gain enough momentum to jump above the lip of the wall on the other side. They can land there or do a 180-degree turn in mid-air and return to the other side.

good for 7 springs. and i dont see anything so bad about that article. They want everyone who reads that paper to understand, u know, the genral audience. If they talke din our language, the article wouldnt make any sense to people other than people who actually ride the park.

now youll have millions of first time skiers going to your hill to check out the superpipe and ski through your park

i mouch fayther perfer the super duper pipe, shaped like an o. where skiers blindfold themselves, and pray to live

"The 18-foot-high walls will enable skiers and snowboarders to drop in from either side and gain enough momentum to jump above the lip of the wall on the other side. They can land there or do a 180-degree turn in mid-air and return to the other side."

hahahahahahahahah thats classic. did you see that, i went to one side then returned to the other side!!

haha that does suck, the half pipe which is shaoed liek the letter u ahahah, you mentioned it in your post, but i found it funy

"The park, which will include a number of "yo dude, look at this" features and a "Superpipe" worthy of the name, will be near the Alpine Meadows slope and can be seen from the Main Lodge. Excavation work on the four-acre site already has begun."

Uh..... excuse me?

Stop being such an elitist. Reporters shouldn't try to enlighten the public to the thing that gives you so much pleasure? The general public should remain completely oblivious to sports you care about, because they will be initially ignorant? I can't believe you're actually slightly angry that your local paper actually gives two shits about their youth/community members' interests. Be thankful your local papers don't cover Foresty, First Nations, and Fishing EXCLUSIVELY, completely ignoring any other cultural influences.

The people that are reading those papers are the same people that wouldn't acknowledge differences between single-tipped and double-tipped skis, at least they're going to be slightly less ignorant to what we do. Even if it is just slightly, be thankful for the coverage.

ohhh shut the fuck up.

most of the people who are going to read that and not understand the concept of a halfpipe are far too old for it to matter to them anyways.

i never said i was ANGRY, it was funny and i posted it.

yeah it sounds retarded to us, but can u imagine a 75 year old grandma reading 'this pipe will be the illest thing to happen since grilled cheese, its got 18 foot walls and 450 feet long, and we will be boosting out of it all day long. so come to 7 springs to schralp the gnap pipe'

hahahaha

but that begs the question, why would a 75 year old grandma be interested in this...

i dont read her quilting articles.

Haha that half pipe will be pretty awesome jumping from side to side. And everybody will get stuck in the middle lol. Coz you can go from both sides. How the hell should u get out of it? Jump, climb funny experience!!

" Ramps are used as launching and landing sites. And tabletops are larger versions of their dining room counterparts. "

Ohh shit when I read ur post I started to think about what they mean with U shaped. I thougt they had a pipe that looks like a u from upside.

"Snowboarders and extreme or advanced skiers are looking for an enhanced riding experience," Mr. Bender said in a news release.

HAHAHAHA!!! Extreme or advanced skiers...omfg I'm laughing soo hard now

"...or you can do a 180° turn adnreturn to the other wall"

hahaha am i readin this wrong or am i retarded

Rails, which vary in width from 2 to 4 inches, start out level and then descend at an angle similar to a railing along a flight of stairs. C-rails are shaped like the letter C and require a higher degree of balance to ride. Ramps are used as launching and landing sites. And tabletops are larger versions of their dining room counterparts

uhhh.... how is halfpipe skiing going to get into the olympics if these people that are "too old for it to matter to them anyways" don't hear anything about it... how are half of the skiers you idolize going to continue making money... ahhhhh fuck off

hahaha holy shit. listen, this was a fucking retarted article about my shitty western PA mountain and our semi-shitty park. thats it, i dont think this is anything that is going to change the future of skiing. so chilllll the fack out
