Local hill no longer opening on weekdays

Tragic news, as far as skiing goes. The local ski area in my town is only opening on weekends this season (even that won't happen until January with how the weather's looking). Since only pass holders, which means mostly kids, went on weekdays, the decision makes financial sense, but it isn't fair, especially since the price of a pass is staying the same this season.

What can I do? Would a petition have any chance of working? The hill is publicly operated, so they have to be somewhat accountable to citizens. If not, laps everyday after school aren't going to happen. The real downer is that a lot of the people who ski/board are really good and go on to compete at higher levels; this screws up any chance of that.

I guess I should feel lucky we have a hill at all, but this sucks big time.

Shit im sorry man Id die of that happened I couldn't handle it. Ill sign a petition if you make one. Rip Op's mountain

Yo looks like your in our neck of the woods. what hill you talking about?

Sorry.

Oglebay in Wheeling, WV, featuring "a triple chair lift, accessing a 815 ft. slope with a 168 ft. vertical drop."

How far are you from Snowshoe? Is that reasonable for a day or two a week on top of your local mountain on weekends?

Don't know much about local hills considering I'm from Nashville, TN...however, have you thought about asking them if yall (the kids who go on weekdays) could take on the responsibility of maintaining it? Like maybe during the weekdays you guys could split your time riding and keeping the features in good shape? Don't know how viable it is but I'm sure if you had the willing participants you could get pretty organized with it, say group A rides Monday & Wednesday while group B maintains the park and vice verse on Tuesday and Thursday and then both groups help put the park back into great condition on Friday so it's looking good for the weekends? Maybe that's insane, lot of moving parts...but sounds like you guys really care about it and if so I think it could be really cool! Let me know how everything turns out though even if Yall don't take this idea. Hoping for the best for Yall OP!

That sucks. I have some friends who use to hit that place up every day after school.

For real? Yeah it's a lot of fun, definitely a community once you get to know people. Park is so sketchy (rust, broken jibs, jumps designed by someone who must be blind) but I used to be there at least every other day.
