2) Real skifi: all vids

Some of the older real skifi videos are good, like the ones where they keep both skis on and use them on snow and don't rely on gimmicks for views

Peace out

Keep It Real was sick, but imo the song choice was just terrible. S/o to Pan for the movie tho it was dope. No hate

lmao what about any warren miller movie

last one I watched there was a 20 min segment of to random ski instructors cat skiing with Glen Plake. They didn't hit a single cliff, jump, or even do a single line that could be considered sketchy. It felt like the entire point of the segment was to say, "Ha, we are cat skiing and you're not and you never will because you're poor and lazy."

Also any ski movie where a pro tries to scrounge up enough brain cells to make skiing sound deep and important, but they end up just saying something along the lines of how "they feel connected to the spirit of the mountains". Might be a bit harsh but that sort of stuff has always felt so disingenuous.

Thats why I put metal grab tabs on my poles, its not because my credit card declined on EVO its because I want my tabs to shred through my torn gloves and rip my hands open so I bleed on the mountain, which will only connect us further.

Its the absurd editing and post production for me. And that terrible Native American chant song that is engrained in my head after only watching the movie once.

yea into the mind ruined that native american chanting music for me, maybe permanently. really didn't like it in ON3P5 either, but that's thanks to sherpas, not jnilla. idk if that music belongs in videos of white kids skiing. but you could say that about plenty other music, too. so who tf really knows.

I watched that with my dad and he usually appreciates all ski movies, even shitty ones like Into The Mind. He didn’t even make it through the whole thing.

The editing might be a little hard to watch for half an hour but you can't say that Phil's part wasn't fire???

Yeah I remember being really disappointed with that movie. Luckily everything they've made since has been much better edited. I remember Henrik's part with the Nas song being good though

yeah dude, there was just clearly so much money and effort put into the movie and the fact that it turned out so bad is what makes it terrible to me. There is actually so little skiing content, it's just a bunch of fake deep bullshit. I thought to myself like a year ago "it can't really have been that bad" so I watched it again and it was even worse than I remembered.

Every once in a while some dudes who think they are the gods of editing and cinematography decide to put out a movie that's going to be "not like any ski movie you've seen before," and that it will "appeal to non-skiing audiences." But here's the thing: Into the Mind has too much skiing to not be a ski movie, but too much not skiing to be a good ski movie. So what you end up with is an hour of sherpas cinema jerking themselves off.

mehhhhhhhhhhh are they?

Which is a waste given the talent of some of their skiers. Even in his late 40s, Glen Plake was going on some gnarly treks, like trying to be the first to hike and ski Mount Manaslu without supplemental oxygen. He ended up being the only survivor in an avalanche which killed 11 other people.

Magnus' real ski from 2018. Definitely some good skiing but that was certainly out there

Wasn't this the year where he got injured and couldn't finish his segment? He could have just not release anything but he did it anyway so please no hate for this.

Yeah it was I believe. No hate, definitely some insane skiing in the first part and was certainly dope that he even released anything, I just thought the video was out there.

It's a snowboarding video, but Higher showing Jeremy Jones in the Himalayas has some of the gnarliest big mountain lines ever done.
