Lizzies in pow?

well they're short and work best center mounted so you'll get tip dive but they're certainly fat enough
if you're playing around in pow they'll be fine, if you're serious about charging lines and doing gs turns then look elsewhere

they should be fine, but i am a big fan of longer skis so you may look into the bacon because of the mounting. if you are a good skier bacons should be good, lizzies may hold you back if you are skiing hard

If you were using them as a powder ski you wouldnt mount them center, that would be dumb. Not every ski has to be mounted center to be considered cool.

if you are mounting center, those wont be nearly long enough, go 180ish for center mount, you could probably get away with lizzies mounted really far back

lizzies are supposed to be mounted forward though, so they will lose some versatility but not so drastically, but if he was to center mount, he should get bacons

i dont even know if i would center those

A majority of skis if centermounted will dive in pow. Its simple physics. Unless of course the skis is designed to be mounted forward with either sidecut modifications or some sort of rocker.

i think you got it backwards. if you center mount, you gain equal ability backwards and forwards, therefore increasing your versatility two-fold

well i wouldnt like charge big mountain lines with em but i would more use em as an all around ski... i have k2 fujis which i use mainly for park, but these would be like my pow jib ski/tree ski? idk would taht work out

i mean i could move up to sir francis bacons but i also have a potential deal on some used ones with bindings... so basically for my size would they perform as well as the bacons in the pow

i am 5' 8" and weigh about 130lbs and i rode the lizzies all of last year- including a fair amount of good pow days and i thought they did great! and i rode them at the factory recommended mounting point, which is where i would recommend mounting them.

lizzies are sick in pow. at your size especially they will be fine. Recommended is at -2 not at centre, i would mount them there or even -1 or 2 from that if it is no park no switch. read my review of them if you have doubts.

he probably will.. but how many non-twin skis do you know of that are 172cm 139-110-137.. a lot of people do own twins but never ski switch.. not saying this guy is one of them

thanks for the advice... ill def be skiin em in park and on groomers some, and ill def be skiin switch on em, but there def gonna be my main pow ski.

only one of my 4 pairs of skis is center mounted, i'm only into it for park, but if he's gonna be buying a pow ski he should get bacons, lizzies work best at center because they're 2mm's away from being symmetrical, imagine skiing back mounted invaders, it would be pretty shitty

lizzies work better at recommended than at centre. -2 is recommended. i don't think he needs bacons. i think in trees he will have more fun on lizzies.

this could have just been something that i heard but i have been told that the mounting point is where it is because that is where eric pollard rides them. they are his pro model and that's why the put the mounting point where they did. i mounted mine at recommended and loved them there, the ski works exactly like it should and i had no problems at all skiing switch in any conditions. i have heard that people really like them at center and that is totally cool if that's what you like - it's all about preference. but i think it puts you infront of the fat part of the ski (meaning thickness not width), and don't move them up because you are scared the ski wont ride fakie well enough at recommended because it does great

awesome thanks for the help guys... i think im gonna go for em and mount em 2- from the center if they arent already, i would think about bacons but i think that the lizzies are gonna be a better all around ski for my size and ive already gotta deal on a pair of used ones

haha i saw a kid last year with 161 invaders and they were mounted like as far back as recommended is on public enemies. it was the stupidest thing i have ever seen. they were mounted on like the butter zone or well pretty close to it im surprised the screws didnt go through the ski

So I'm about 5 7, 135 and ski my 1st generation lizzies all over the mountain. I am looking for some ep pros right now for the deep stuff though. Anything over 6" and if it isn't real steep I am leaning back a bit. Hope this helps.

not true, they have such a deep side cut that it gives an incredible loss when you mount anywhere except for the recommended point.

im 5'10 150 and mounted mine +1 from recommended and they r fine. dont listen to these kids that say "o youll mess up the sidecut!" boohoo, its fine, they ride pow regular and switchc just fine. sure they tip dive a little i mean they are 172's but nothing that you cant adjust for. buy them! not to mention they are built extremley well, i rode them hard everyday last year and they held up better than most skis i see, and i don't take it easy at all
