Living in SLC

So I am looking at heading out to SLC after graduating college. I have an uncle out there an he loves it. May just be that he flies for Delta so he really is just back in Utah to ski and then he goes on a trip, but he seems to like it. I know the city relatively well and have a few job offers out there.

After spending about 2 weeks there during the summer I liked it for the most part. How is the nightlife? As a single guy who is non-LDS I hear its hard to meet people and there isn't a ton going on.

I just like SLC b/c its a big city next to amazing outdoor opportunities. Just not sure if its the best place for a single, 22 year old who isn't mormon.

I hear Cottonwood Heights is where the non-LDS skiers live but I could be wrong.

Thanks

Where are you from? I'm from backwoods maine (living in holladay) and am having a awful hard time getting use to a city. I feel like the only place to escape is up in the canyons. You also probably didn't experience inversion. The inversion is straight up gross and its grosser than a paper mill. I also miss the people of maine and the lack of water. Most people here have not worn carharts and flannels at the same time ever while doing actual work and never cut down a tree to heat their home.

Big advantage to the city is that every store you could want is right there and public transportation is free if you work at a resort. The biggest pull for me was that SLC is the cheapest place to move west to and there is actual snow compared to the ice in the east.

With the whole LDS(mormon. try to use LDS if you can) thing its not that bad. Most of the people you see in the canyons are not lds and are actually from the east here to ski. I personally don't have a night life cause I'm so tired at the end of the day from shoveling snow all day or hucking my meat all day off of everything cause shit here blows my fucking mind skiing wise. You will be so zoned in on skiing that chicks are not going to be on your mind.

With all of that said though I'm seriously looking into montana for next season.

So you went to college to become another one of those smelly retards hiking around in the woods and sleeping in their beat up subaru at age 35? Boy your parents must be proud~

the Mormons aren't bad at all. I love it when people say they are weighing their decision on the Mormon thing. it's not like you're gonna get treated differently because you aren't Mormon. I've met more people from the east/Midwest than Mormons out here. that's for sure.

SLC blows. If you want a big city that is somewhat close to skiing, go to Denver or Seattle. They are further from the mountains, I know, but SLC is not much fun. AND THE INVERSIONS, GOT DAMN.

If I had to live down there though, it would be in Sugar Hood or downtown.

Wacth out for the Mos, they bite

All you gotta do is snatch the prettiest looking 18yr old you can find and dont let her go, ever, mo style. And always, always, arrive to meet your girl half an hour late so she has a solid 30 minutes to give false hope to us other joes. Oh, and make sure she dresses in the slutiest tightest clothing possible when not around her parents and on a date.

Basically when you find that blonde solid six housewife material show her off TOUGH to all of greater SLC. Your local mormom friend, and missionary, Dan Kweed.

PS

Utah is the Second Most Dryiest state in the U.S. for good reason. Good luck on keeping it moist, oh and dont think there arent mos surronding you and the other hippies in Cotton wood heights. We know all about you weed tokers and bong hitters.
