Living in Bend

So I just graduated college and now im moving to Bend because it sounds like a badass place to be. Does anyone need a roommate or have any suggestions on where is a cool place to live? So far Ive gathered that the west side is where its at. Any info would be cool though

Westsides expensive. I would suggest somewhere on the east. And Bend is so small you can bike or drive anywhere in town within minutes. So unless you've got some money i would look more into the east. But I'm still in high school so I don't know the full extent of the real world. Oh and theres also a dope climbing gym just up reed market.

WESTSIDE.we've had some battles on this subject. i've lived here since 1994. i dont know one person who has moved to bend that has lived on the eastside with any enjoyment. westiside is cheap if you look around. 3 bedroom houses for under 900$. 3 bedroom condos for under 800$. 2 bedroom condos under 700$ all over the place.
spend one day in bend. go on the eastside for half the day, see what happens. spend the other half on the westside, see what happens.

^ listen to him, i spent 18 years of my life in bend. the east side sucks. just look around the west and you will find something.

thanks for the advice. im planning on moving to the westside. it seems pretty cheap if you just live with some roommates after checking out craigslist. wheres some legit biking? all i have heard of so far is phils trails which seems massive

Solid choice!

What street are you on?

I live kinda close by off riverside.

As for biking, have you met any bikers yet? Theres some decent dirt jumps at the Layer. Im not really a biker, but have been there to shoot some and it seems pretty sweet.

i live off of knoll ave a few blocks behind bend cyclery. i have met one biker so far...mostly been riding up in phils trails, having a great time doing some DH on whoops, and did shevlin park a few days ago too. i havent been to their lair yet though...

the whole area around phils trail is really where its at for biking. whoops, pump track, slalom, railroad jumps, the lair, cod (i think thats what its called), and some other hidden spots. there is also a skills park about 25 mins away in redmond.

anyone heading up to mt hood to go ride the public lane? hopefully ill make it there soon and would be down to ski with someone

Def hit the Lair up.. its pretty fun. What kind of riding do you do? I grew up in Bend, and go back probably twice a month or so. I can point you in the direction of ride spots depending on the type you do. Bachelor is also going to be hooking up some bike trails as well. if the snow melts....

I'll be at Hood this weekend.. although.. I'm converting from snowboarding... so, you probably dont want to ride with me just yet. The skis are still fresh.

the lair is so rad. ive pretty much hit every spot around the area thats not still snowed in. as for riding this weekend i gotta work but maybe next weekend
