ya man thats exactly how everyone needs to live. do what you want and dont live just to please other people. i have a brother just like it. graduated cornell with a double major in 3 years and is now at stanford for grad school. id kill myself if i did that
 
Shit, this is exactly what i wanted to do...

for the last 2 years, ive made plans, made money, saved money, and figured out my who life...

in the last 2 weeks its all crashed

I found out that i cant go skiing this year, because of money issues,,,i found out we dont really have money for college or anything, and my GPA wont get me a ride through college

Working at a shop is great and all, and so is staying with several bros sharing a house...but what happens when you want to get married...you still want to be in that house with all yo bros, and now your wife, and family?

Please i understand where your coming from, but there is no point in not going to a college and getting at least a buisness managment, or ski related degree...hell even go to a 2 year college! just find something to fall back on if the shop doesnt work out! I am not rippin on your plan, its absolutely what i plan on doing! im am so excited aobout it you have no idea!

I actually plan on putting up a sale on Friday, here on Newschoolers, which will sell most of the contents of my room, and stuff, just so i can get the money to ski for a couple of weekends!

I have a plan, in which for the next three years, im goin to not spend any money, other than on my GF, and ABSOLUTELY necessary things, in order to be able to ski even more, and pursue what i love!

figure out a plan, save some money, get a fallback plan, and then absolutely go for it!!!
 
Here's my plan...
I grew up in the city of Philly. Far as fuck from the mountains. We had a mountain house growing up though about 2 hours away, skiing came in shortly after...
I'm about to move to Denver in January for school. Never been more stoked on anything. I'm going as a graphic design major, which is what I love to do in life and really enjoy doing (besides skiing of course). I realize that I'll be in debt, but I'll have a degree in something awesome.
Fuck corporations. I plan on staying out in CO and starting my own design firm...maybe even start up a company in the ski industry a bit further down the road. I just want to be self employed, make enough money to get by while still breathing, live in the woods, and ski everyday. Work when I want on my own schedule and not have to deal with anyone breathing down my neck. Also fuck employees. I know that I won't fuck myself over.
As long as happiness comes from something...just get the balls up and do it. That's what I did. I said to myself I probably should stay close to home but then something inside my head just said fuck it and go, hopefully everything works out so I can actually follow through, but as far as I'm concerned, it will.
 
peaced out on my arc degree. now i just smoke pot and ski. i'll finish it up when the time comes. we all got mad time. life is all about the rad dude
 
So if you start your own design firm, you're not going to incorporate?

seriously though...i agree, you can have a good job and do something you enjoy.

 
I'd rather not incorporate, keep it small. Employing tends to make things tricky, although it might become to the point where it's unavoidable.
Then again I have absolutely no clue what I'm talking about with this, I took a semester at community college, shit will figure itself out when it needs to haha
