so i decided to transfer to OSU cascades for winter term.. the only thing thats holdin me back is housing... i dont want to live in a dorm b/c that's gay so i'm looking for a home in bend.. any recommendations? its also been years since ive been down there and i guess its changed a lot so where should i try and live. and thennn final question.. my car.. not very bend-worthy id say.. its a 91 camry wagon and as far as im concerned a piece of shit.. plus the transmission is totally shot.. so i may bring it down there but i prolly wont drive it around much in winter.. is there PT in bend.. okay. helpful infos would be magnif. THANKS NS! (p.s. im living in pdx atm)

Lodging - check craigslist, keep my ears open for ya though

PT, there are a few i think, google is your friend there.

Theres teh BAT... its not great but it gets around a little bit in bend... i would recommend brining your car and obviously buying a bus pass for the mtn. Thats the great thing is u just got to get the bachelor bus stop and your golden...

As far as housing, just do what AJ said. Craigs list is nice and works. Thats how i got my place. Oh actually you should call them cuz i know there are open units here. If they lady says no its bullshit.
Its right across the street from the college. The walk to the OSU Cascades building is like maximum 2 minutes.
Its called Awbrey Pines Condominiums. Just look it up. Just beware the manager is fucking crazy, but kinda nice. She'll leave you alone eventually.
Oh and they are newly remodeled so not a piece of shit. If you get a roomate it would be under 400 a month for a big 2 bedroom.
Yeah yeah message me if u have more questions.

Hope that helped

thanks thats some good infos.. i was looking at craigslist awhile back and there really just isnt much on there in the way of housing.plus ya i would most def need a roomie cause i'm retty broke.. especsh if i buy a meadows and a bach pass and try and move :P but thank you!!

Try looking on The Bend Bulletins website under classifieds. I have found some nice and pretty cheap rooms/apts on the westside (where you want to be).

Yeah those Condominiums are nice. Anywhere on the West Side is good, you'll never have to leave. A mountain bike can do okay the winter if you're close enough and crazy to boot, the BAT is getting better. Bus pass for the hill is probably just as reliable as a car would be, and way cheaper if you're going up 4 or 5 times a week.

And if you're into comps at all, hit me up about the COCC Freestyle Team. It would be sick to get a fem rider.

No, they are selling them. $250 for it though, now that it's October, so figure out gas vs. bus for how often you'll be goin up. And you can always hitchhike or carpool, that's easy enough.
