Hey kids... man, I thought Oregon had a bigger scene than this. Get off all ya's asses, start using the nice little forum Harvey made just for you.

Anyway, I'm posting this because I might be going to Lewis & Clark next year in Portland and I'm wondering what the ski scene is like around there.... anyone here from Portland, or ride Hood? I was thinking school and skiing during the winter, then trying to hook up a job in Govy or as a digger during the summer.

By the way, if you guys need an example of what a good regional forum should look like, check out the Michigan forum. These midwestern kids know whats up. ;)

its all about camping at lake trillium and working in the timberline lodge to get the free pass, you only work from like 3-9 and thats after skiing. this summer you arnt gonna find to many jobs digging cause the snowpack, on a good year they hire quite a bit

thanks for the advice.

man, this is depressing... I should have applied somewhere in Washington.

ill be camping at trillium lake from june 5- 20 or somthing ... depending on how many free tickets there are (how many racers wanna give up there tic's)... but im not going to camp im just riding the public scene

Sounds good... the public park is okay, but man Windell's is the shit... I know some guys there so maybe they'd let me ride during the summer; either that or you just get some friends together to film you and tell them you're shooting a movie, and they'll let you in.

the one thing i miss about hood is the laid back attitude of the skiers and boarders there. there's rarely any bitching. people are just killer anywhere on hood. they'll give ya props if your a newbie or a seasoned pro, and the local scene is great, lots of killer riders that could put to shame many of the pros out there right now...

hood is getting worked with snow right now 95inch base at timberline and meadows is getting 12 inches a day, check out meadows park right now its sick

how's the meadows park this year? the year i move and it looks like they make a sweet park. damn.

i work for Camp revolution. And I can tell you after talking with timberline that they are a bit worried this year on there snowpack. there was a few days were they were closed about a month ago where it was raining mad. So they had to start pushing snow around. Also the snowpack is extremly below average so its gonna go quick. Also some smaller camps in teh past have let you dig in trade for you to ride, but for the most part digging is a inside job.. Or you need a connection.

well, if you can get me a job hucking snow this summer, i would be happy as a little boy in a porn shop? ok, it's late, but still. i'm going to move back to hood this summer. utah sucks.

the park video is sick

from what ive seen, pretty much all the skiers know each other and have skied with each other

pretty kickass park now with 4 hits and rails at the bottom

umm...shit

i was at meadows park thursday. pretty kick ass park. smaller jumps to the left, large ones to the right, one rail up top and the rest at the bottom. the snow conditions sucked, and there was no halfpipe damnit!

Haha, yea. It was so wet! You should have been there this saturday though! OMG...it was so great! They had their boxsled races going on, and they really built up the snow park!

timberlines park is finally done and its sickness. this summer is gonna go off dude, tuesday thru sunday is gonna dump on them, i wouldnt worry to much, there at 85% right now

Maybe it'll be nice at the mountain this weekend. Is the park set up on paintbrush or where? I haven't been to timberlime this season cuz of my season pass over at meadows

On second thought, which park is better, do you know? I'm low on cash, and I have my eye on some new skis for next year...

fun stuff, im not going up this weekend cuz of an overload of homework, but next weekend I'm prolly going up w/ a big group of people. Skiing alone is so depressing, plus if I were to do something stupid, nobody would notice that I was missing for a while...

I was at Timberline yesterday...the park is really good. They've kinda got two. One is set up on the other side of the 'Stormin' Norman' lift and has REALLY small tables and a few beginner friendly rails. The other side (Paintbrush) has some huge booters and they're super smooth...really good for throwing around super slow spins. Snow was awesome yesterday...and it was snowing all day.
