to quote the late great mr. marley "life is one big road with lots of signs. so when your riding through the ruts, dont complicate your mind. flee from hate, mischief and jealousy. dont bury your thoughts, put your vision to reality. WAKE UP AND LIVE!"

it seems like kids these days are too concerned with what everyone else thinks. when did life become a fashion show or a popularity contest?? if we spent as much time concentrating on skiing or school or something productive, i think we as a civilization would be much better off. and what happened to just goin out and shreddin with your best friends and crackin jokes and chillin? isnt that the whole point to begin with? just wear what YOU think is comfy and stylin. who cares what other people think. ski how YOU wanna ski. ski without poles if you want to. wear a neon one-piece if it gets you stoked to hit the mountain.

"live the life you love. love the life you live." i think we take our lives for granted all too often. seriously, we're soo blessed to have the lives we do. even if you think your's sucks and your parents are on your back 24/7, thats nothin compared to kids in the middle east or the congo. we should be so stoked just to wake up in the morning and see our parents, brothers, sisters, and friends. life is too short to waste it being bitter, angry, depressed, or defeated.

i didnt mean to write a novel, but its just been on my mind lately and i think NS could use a little "pick-me-up"

Amen dude, it seems like people put their life into a more basic context than it really is. I wrote an essay on a similar idea the other day and basically stated that people living in society all have a general picture painted for them and that they dont realize that thier life is actually better than it seems to be. It was kind of a rhetorical anaylsis essay so I had to subject on the authors intent.

i must admit, my life has been awesome. i grew up my entire life with no parental arguments (no divorce, not even an argument i can remember), no physical discipline, and no abuse of any kind from anybody in my family. this divorce rate is completely insane, and i am just happy that my family is together. i take it for granted waaayyyy too often, and i couldn't imagine my family ever having trouble. a luxury nowadays i guess. if i could pass on any info to a younger generation, i guess i would say be grateful for the good people in your life. they seem to be getting farther and fewer between.

That video really puts things in a different perspective... everyone gets so wrapped up in their own little world they forget about everything else thats going on around them. I know im guilty of it and not to be judgemental but so is pretty much everyone else. If people just stopped and appreciated life for what it was the world would be a better place but unfortionately that will probably be a world we will never live in. Just my opinion.

i was thinking people make their life more complicated than it really is......but maybe we're thinkin the same thing just in a different way

I know almost everyone else has said it, but that just made my day a whole lot better. I was so pissed off at so many dumb things, but this made me realize all I have and how lucky I am. Plus I have way better things to do than be pissed off; like skiing, its just the best way to get away from it all.

I would give you karma for that, but I already rate you 10/10.

Great thread, thanks, you made my day a whole lot better, now there's a smile on my face.

i was thinking about this a little while ago when i was going up to the hill with my buddies, just thinking like, honestly just do what you wan you know.this just got me soo stoked on.. just life

thanks for it dude

thats it man just live your lifeit doesnt matter how many times you fail or fall or how many times you are successful or what people think of you at the end of the day its your life and you should just do what makes you happy+k for the good vibeslt4

i would give you +k but your already a 10i try and tell this to my friends in general not just about skiing, like well be chillin and theyll get in a pissy mood because they cant find any booze or something like that and it pisses me off so much thanks for teh pick me up though i havent lost all faith in society

and how can you look at the world we live in and how awesome it is, and brush it off like it aint nothin...

if you think about it, theres so much out there that hasnt been discovered. i mean, scientists and explorers have only explored like 10% of the oceans and the oceans cover 70% of our planet. it just goes to show you how crazy life is and it really puts it into perspective how small we are compared to how big this world is. (im a christian btw) and it shows you how small and insignificant we are compared to god and whats he's given us. so, yea theres my 2 cents for the day....

this is the exact words that i needed to hear. its like a message from the unknown. i had the worst night in a long time last night.. for real i didn't get outta bed till 4 because i was so wrapped up in shittyness.

thanks alot man. that totally got me passed a really hard time.

Wow man you really got me thinking. I gave you 10/10 right away. I started thinking- We're lucky to have someone engineering the skis we all ride, we're lucky to have the snow we slide on, we're lucky to have the lifts we ride on, we're lucky to have the snowcats that build our park features, we're lucky to have the ski patrol who save us in bad situations, we're lucky to have the clothing that protects us and keeps us warm, we're lucky to have the cars to get us to the mountain, we're lucky to have the homes people built for us, we're lucky to have the computers, we're lucky to have the internet, we're lucky to have newschoolers.com (a place where people of common interest can get together and meet each other, help each other, and unite as one to continue growing and spread the good word of freestyle skiing). We may be bummed that we didn't hit the new park feature, but the kid who had a great first day skiing may be bummed that he was hospitalized in a car crash on the way down the hill because of someone else's reckless driving, or some kid in Africa may be bummed he doesn't have food or water. A gaper may be glad he got to go up the lift for the first time and you may be glad you landed a cork 540 or some kid in Africa may be glad he had a slice of bread and 2 cups of dirty water. Some of us are bitching about how patrollers yell at us for skiing switch or how their mountain's park suck dick while people in Iraq deal with constant war and the sound of gunshots and bombs. We have it pretty good wherever we live. Most likely no war, clean water, and food. Look, we have become so greedy and selfish a Wal Mart employee was killed because of a trampling of Black Friday crowds. Why are we bringing the world this way? We need to be grateful of what we have. Thanksgiving just occured two days ago and it's all about giving thanks to what we have now. We should be giving thanks everyday.

/rant sorry for the novel.

Word dude.

Just gotta be stoked on life - thats it.

I'd also recommend you guys to listen to the song All About You by Classified, very life inspirational.

the combination of the video and the thread makes you realize what's really important in this world ya know? like honestly, we have everything we need. we hear that sorta thing all the time, but it doesn't really affect us at all. with the christmas season (or whatever holiday you choose to celebrate) coming up, you wonder, do we really NEED anything? couldn't the money that goes to everything we get be better spent helping people in need in places like Dufar, or Haiti or places like that? this may come across as cheesy or whatever, but it's important and i don't give a shit. we all need to realize how lucky we are. i'm the same way. i never appreciate what i have and i always want more. this really made me think about what was important, and how that everyone who has the capabilities to go on this site is lucky and fortunate to either live in a country with the money and resources to protect us.

I like your style.

I want to add this little piece:

"Never let schooling interfere with your education." -Mark Twain

Think about it.

such a good quote. my sister was planning on having that for her senior quote, but the year before she graduated someone else used it haha.

but yea man everything you said is so right. i think about shit like this a lot if i think im having a bad day or something shitty happens.

dont take what you have for granted.
