For the most part, rap music is usually recorded in a pretty mellow voice or a settled un strained voice, but when they preform live they sound like there getting anal raped and bob the builder wants them to sing there songs. Ew.

You hear like fifty cent who is shitty already, and he sounds sooo bad live. I can only think that Zion 1, Immortal technique, kanye west and maybe nas sound good live. Dont waste your money on any other rap concerts.
 
very true if you are talking about lots of mainstream. very wrong if you are talkinga bout real hip hop and underground. hieroglyphics crew, ghostface, living legends are some of the many amazing rappers live

Rap in general sucks, but if you go to a hip hop show, for example atmosphere, or josh martinez, it's dope.

Hiero is the best show i have ever seen in my life, but i do have alot of fav artists i haven't seen that i want to really bad, that im sure will be just as dope.

i saw living legends the other day, so fucking amazing. it was my first live hip hop show ever, and it set a very high standard

and for what you do at a hip hop show, i guess you just bump to the beat, and spit back the lyrics, feel the music.

That's what i do anyway.
 
haven't been to too many hip hop shows but from what i've seen, they like to change up the lyrics a bit which i think is pretty cool
 
Ludacris was pretty sweet live. The songs he did featuring other people were pretty lame though since he just pre recorded their voices but he was rapping so it was cool.
 
if you wanna see good live hip hop go see Lyrics Born, The Roots, Gift of Gab, Crown City Rockers, Living Legends, Outerspace, Slug, & Aesop Rock all put on a good live show.
 
Roots are awesome live.. also, i saw Talib Kweli and MF Doom in a little club (Suede.. the club that is featured in Pop Yer Bottlez) and let me tell you all... it was OFF THE HOOK. Also, i saw Black Eyed Peas, and N.E.R.D in a little club right after Elefunk came out. That was honestly one of the most memorable shows i have ever been to. It was awesome
 
I'd have to say that J5, Atmosphere, hieroglyphics, and Jedi Mind Tricks sound pretty damn good live
 
maybe because rappers arent real musicians, they just killed their way to the top. if you want to see good live stuff get how the west was won by led zeppelin

i saw jedi minds live and they fuckin sucked. i left early. i like seeing local emcees. chadio and caspian from vancouver are ill.
 
The only live hip hop I've seen that was good, was the gift of gab.

Kayne West looks like a squirrel preparing for the winter season. What a tool.
 
I've been to a few hiphop/rap shows and they all sucked ass with one exception:

There is something about the way that dude flows. I'm not a huge fan of rap, but shit he put on a good show. His voice just bounces and flows so well with the beats. Plus he freestyled for like 5 minutes and it was amazing. He's fat as hell though, I kept getting pushed into him during the show because he took up so much of the stage.

there are a lot of other good hip-hop out there check out guru and eyedea and abilities and digable planets and roots manuva and roni size and reprazent. lord tariq and peter gunz and also masta ace.
 
i've seen atmosphere live 8 times.

and i haven't been disappointed yet.

there are very very few rap shows that i have been disappointed by, and i've been to a LOT of shows.

go and get yourself to a smaller, intimate venue and see someone decent, i guarantee you will change your mind.
 
I've only been to two hip hop shows and both were flat out amazing. Both the shows were in a little bar and only about 40 people showed up. The first was a bunch of people including Aceyalone and Abstract Rude, fucking awesome show. The second was One Be Lo aka one man army from binary star. This show was also incredible. Hip hop shows with good hip hop are so cool because you get to see the rapper actually spit all the dope lines that you've heard on the album. To see them actually get into it and get the crowd into it is crazy.
 
Seen common, kanye, and de la soul live. I thought all were awesome cause they had so much energy and kanye put on such a good show. I also saw rahzel and he was fucking crazy.
 
shit man i just got back from that show, they started right after a showing of Tangerine Dream and it was dope. Lots of freestyles and dope rhymes, definitely kept me entertained... if The Crest ever comes into your town, go to the show, you won't be disappointed
 
i dont think you can comment on the entire genre you've obviously never been to an underground show...

and dont even get me started on the genius of beastie boys live
 
ive seen talib 4 times and he was only good once (had backup singers). the perceptionists and LL's were the best live shows ive seen.
 
its cause they all smoke too much and they dont have enough lung capacity to do all of their lines and songs one after another.
 
i really liked brother ali live, that was def. one of my favorite rap shows i've been to, if anyone ever sees a brother ali show coming their way, definitely, it's wayyy worth it
