Little Kids in Big Parks

Is it just me or are there too many little kids in the upper level parks that dont belong there? Today at sundayriver, where i ski every weekend, i was in rockingchair park. Its the upper level park,theres not a table in there under 30 feet. There were a ton of little kids in there under 8 or 10 years old. some of them easily under 6. They were criss crossing around on the landings and off the side of the jumps, getting in everyones way, and there parents where doing it too. Then this kid, id guess 11 who had no idea what he was doing goes off one of the larger jumps and completely crumples on the table cuz he didnt have nearly enough speed to clear it. He was just lying there crying. It was rediculous. Finally, I was going in for a quater pipe hit and some woman skis right between it and i, cuts me off and then blames me for it. I am sick of people being in the parks that do not belong in there

Damn sounds like you caught that park at a bad time. When I was there, there was literally no one in that park. Even our own people, they where all in the other park hitting up the smaller jumps and all those rails. Seems like the "intimidation" factor of that park has long since been gone. That sucks man.

Hey, I was at Sunday river today too. I know what you mean though. and there were like 20 english people there. I was riding the lift with an english guy and his grandson, and they were looking at rocking chair from the lift and said "lets take a go at it" His grandson was like 8. They think it's fun just to fool around and ski around the jumps and pretend they are good

shit all these little kids at my ski hill block everything up. and then when they wipe out it takes forever to get the patrol in and help them.

i think hills should do something about this all.

yeah same at my mountain. i see people who can barely stand up on skis going through the park. they always just hit the top and land flat on the jumps and im just like wow that kills. I always tell them that parks arent for old people and that this isnt a run. i hate it

it must happen everywhere....i hate when little kids go off the sides of the lips onto rails and pretend they are jumps...it drives me nuts...along with criss crossing through the whole park and riding up and down the tables

The other day I saw some kid in the park walk up to a down rail and climb on to it and slide like a foot of it because he was too scared to ollie onto it I guess. Idiot.

 
You guys obviously don't ride at Whistler. There are so many little kids half my size and age that rip so hard. Just today some kids half my size were throwing cab 5's and 3's and just fucking rediculous shit. They're like 11 years old and they can ski better than I ever have, at least in park.. I retain my dignity out in the real mountains and backcountry... But it's seriously insane. It might be a problem at your hill... but at Whistler it's not a problem, it's a fuckign spectacle, these kids throw down like they were born in the park. So much respect for them.

dude i totaly hear u, but here is just gaper in general, people carve though the park, and theres a fence between the groomer and the park and ppl carve though the park instead of the groomer, and there is like 5 other groomers close to the park, its so homosexual

^I agree with anathema, little kids are fine as long as they hit the jumps like you are sopposed to and come close to clearing them. There a couple of like 9yr olds that ski with me at mt snow, and they spin off the jumps in INFERNO. So, as long as they know what they are doing and obey park ediquite, I don't care.

yesterday i was skiing with a friend of mine and he hit this tabletop and there was this little kid sitting on the landing and my friend landed right on him, and took a major digger, it was so ridiculous. then his parents got all pissed off and we were like wtf tell your kid not to sit somewhere where you cant see him.

i think twin tips only should be allowed in parks, and if they dont have twin tips for some reason, they have to specifically file for a park pass at the lift ticket window

there should be a test to get in the big park. most places have lots of park staff just give the a speshal pass if they ask watch them hit some smalls and let them in. i dont go in the big one much if at all and im better then a lot of the people woho go in there. and what about the ones who just ski down there getting in the way. and lastley on my rant is people who cut you off espeshaley for a jump youll be wating for your trun and someone will come ripping down cut you off and then slow way down for the hit. grrr

 
Awww kinosoo i no exactly what you mean. At blue on friday the sow was unbearably slow and you had to bomb a bunch of shit to clear there step up, (wich is prtty small) so a skier drops in an im atchin to see if he falls or not and just as iget ready to go this snowboarder just carve past me and its the jump and ruins the lip. I go way to corked on the three cause the lip was messed and landed on my side and had to go home cause i coundt ski wn the hill without intense pain.

Just another reason why most SNOWBOARDERS ARE GAY

though somtimes when you come up to check a jump/rail out and you accidently roll over the jump pople over react. Id rather see people checking it out and greasing/clearing it than people trying it first time and seriously hurting themselves therefore closing the feature while ski patrol help them.

yea, i totally agree, there are sh!t loads of little kids and even adults that are in there thatnot only suck but are completly oblivious to wat is going on around them(a.k.a. skiing over the lip, off side of jumps, on landing, etc.) i dont know why more places dont get park passes.

I'd complain about faggoty ass kids too, but yesterday I hit the biggest jump at blue mountain ontario (it's like.. i dunno 50ft?) and landed on my back and was fucking fucked for like the whole rest of the day.

I got served. So I guess you have to lead by example.

completly agree with that, i think that if they arent gonna hit anything then they have no reason at all to be in there. there most likley gonna end up getting hurt or getting someone else hurt. parents should know better to keep there kids out of the upper level parks. they should be on the normal hills or in smaller park. ive had two things like this happen in the past month. 1) some little kid was bombing through the park flying off the side of the jumps and whatever, then came off a jump not knowing there was a handrail after it. the kid smoked his head on the rail and knocked himself out. so the park managers closed that rail for the night, cause that kid was a retard. 2) my buddy was hitting the last table on the south side park at tremblant, he did a 3 over the table and right when he was in teh air some little kid crossed the table and started skiing down the landing. my buddy was honestly 3 feet away from landing on the kid. i went and started yelling at him and his mom came and and blamed it on my freind.

Most of these people just treat the park like it's another run to cruise down. I think ski resorts should notify them (adults, esp. ones w/ little kids) that it's not a run for everyone. Some of them can't be blamed because they didn't grow up with parks, so they don't know what the parks are there for.
