Little custom nine.9 MX paint job

That looks tight. It would be really awesome if you had the one pair of red/white atomic boots to match.
 
yes, i am intigued now, how bout some info? Did you sand it down first or what? prime it? what kidn of paint? and how is it holding up? does it chip very easily?
 
I was going to go all white, but I like the off color - I want to be unique :)

Okay, here is some info: Yes, I sand it is first with a 220 gauge paper. I didn't prime it, but probably should have. This is just a test run.

I then painted it using an outdoor latex paint - gloss white. I had to do two coats because the plastic on the outside of the helmet doesn't allow for thick coating.

Results: yes, it does chip quite easily. I was going to spray paint it, but I decided against it. That might be a good option if you can tape up all the parts you don't want paint on.

Anyway, the painting took about an hour and was tedious. I figured I would have some fun. Don't do this on a helmet you really want to keep the first time. Go buy a really crappy one from the Salvo or something first :)
