Listening to music with helmet?

So I just got a concussion and am starting to wear a helmet a lot more and am wondering how you guys ride with music and a helmet. I usually ride with Icons because they're not noise canceling and easy to pull aside when talking to your buds. My question is, is there any headphone that is comfy and not completely noise canceling so you can hear people talking to you and still hear your music when your riding? What do you guys wear? thanks a bunch guys!
 
My buddy rides with a beanie and his goggles under his helmet, and no earpads so he puts the band of his icons around the back of his head. They stay on when he is in the park and stuff, so I would say that works well and you can keep using your same headphones without getting new ones.
 
Get yourself a helmet or ear inserts that have speakers in them. Mine have volume control on the helmet so I can easily turn down the tunes if I'm talking to people.

However if you are riding with icons, I usually just have the headphones wrapped around the back of my head/neck, below the helmet, and they stay there just fine.
 
I used to rock ear buds but didn't like that they canceled all outside noises even when I had the volume super low. This year I switched to using the Bern Baker audio helmet and don't have bad things to say about it. Sound seems good enough for me, although some people will complain about it washing out as you ski down - I only care about listening to tunes on the lift so this isn't a problem for me. Pretty damn comfortable and warm.
 
I accidently broke the headband of this shitty pair of rap-around headphones, and stuck some velcro strips onto the actually earphone piece and onto the ear straps of my helmet (since I ride with a tuque, thus without the ear pads). They are stuck on there pretty well, so no worrying that they'll fall off, and I can hear conversations around me perfectly clear. I'll post pics next week if you're interested.
 
Hey thats me! :) yeah it will take some playing with it, and also when you first start it gets frusterating, but once you get used to it, its all good.

plus volume control on the cable is dope.
 
capix skatecap, icons fit OVER the helmet and perfectly onto your ears

i put a small piece of clear packing tape on the very top to keep them stuck on the helmet, works like a charm

seriously those things don't do a damn bit of good.
 
1) Buy icons
2) Put Helmet on
3) Put Icon's behind back of head, and place ear pads on the top half of your ears only
4) Can hear music, and people talking to you
5) ???
6) PROFIT!
 
my k2 clutch has a built in mic/headphones setup (plugs into both at the same time). bigass button on one ear to turn music volume on/off, bigass button on other ear to turn mic on so i don't have to stop skiing to pull out my radio. pretty much the coolest thing my aunt ever got me.
 
I have a Red helmet that has speakers in the ear flaps. They are like 40 bucks but its worth it. It also has a clip on the wire thing that allows you to adjust volume and mute it. This is good for talking with your buds.
 
I don't recommend the helmet with the built in speakers in the earpads... I used to have them with the bluetooth and it's convenient and kinda cool, but you can basically hear your music or stuff going on around you, not both.

Was riding with a friend last year that fell in a treewell while doing some tree runs. I went about 70 feet down before realizing he was gone. Took my helmet off and he had been screaming at me... didn't even hear him. I took those speakers out that day and never used them again.

One earbud all the way.
 
I'm a big fan of Bern. They are solid, good looking and they have a volume adjustment in the cable. I like it, and I can still hear when I want to.
