To this song and tell me what you think, share it etc.. A good friend of mine has always freestyled all the time and is a pretty talented rapper, he makes a lot of beats and he made the beat to this song with a keyboard and drum/synth machine. He has the first verse and another dude from here has the second. production quality is shit and keep in mind it is the first song either have ever recorded.. but give it a listen.

I dig the piano/beat. flow was kind of choppy and as you said the quality was subpar but keep at it. good start (constructive criticism)

I posted this in the other thread but I'll post it here too:

No offense but a lot of people just jump into producing and start promoting themselves with their first track, and its not a good thing. Its cool that you're sharing it but the poor mixing and the huge silence at the end aren't exactly indicative of professionalism. The ideas are there but its that last 10% of the music that takes 90% of the work, and the last 10% is the recording process, the mixing, etc. There's absolutely no point in putting the music out there until its ready. Anyone can come up with a basic idea, but the few people who can bring it fully to life are the ones that get record deals.

They should take the track down, call it a demo, and save it until their producing chops are at the level that they can do justice to their ideas, and then redo the entire thing with a decent mic.

Mic sounds kinda weird, I'm guessing that was on purpose though (?). If the voice was lowered a bit so piano could have been at level with it it would have sounded a bit better. In my opinion it was a really nice start. Tell him to keep it up.

shut the fuck up. he's 100% right. why do people post things that aren't done? it's just laziness.this is like people who post raw gopro footage cut up on imovie with a little wayne song and call it an edit.

he made a song to share with an endless community, and you starting talking about a record deal...

saying that it was counter productive to his music career because he hasn't perfected the production yet....

it's not all about recording, in my opinion it's more about playing the music live.

that is all

no. if you're going to record something then do it right and take some fucking time to make it sound half decent.

this is the skiing equivalent of people who suck at producing music

he said it was shotty quality in the OP. don't listen to it if you're afraid of someone asking for your opinion.

also yeah those skiing "edits" are really dumb but it's not like those kids are producers, or even trying to be. Is it not for fun anymore? its all for money and record deals?

I play music for fun.

Well they edited it so it is an edit logically speaking. Whose to say what is and isn't an edit?
