Bob Dylan is the better bob, and he didnt die from some pussy ass toe cancer either, he's still touring and he's like what? at least 120..years old
 
sorry for using the word better. but i just think that bob marley was more talented, dylans voice is kind of annoying, not gonna lie.
 
He changed what it meant to be a star. Sure Marley sounds good and has style and flow and sure he's some pretty boy jamaican, of course he's gonna be a star. The real talent is being able to look like shit, sing like shit, barely play for shit, and still become a living legend.
 
i love both very much, and i've seen dylan live. they're both such great musicians, but i think they're different types of music that can't be compared. both shine in their own genres.
 
im almost 18 and my icon is a joke, but sure my opinion doesnt count because it isnt the same as yours, i agree that dylan is an amazing artist and with what PA said but the fact that you are comparing them is just stupid, they are both great musicians. and how is bob marley "gangster" in the first place?
 
because the new school community always is riding the cock of reggae music, its ridicullous, sure its chill music, but nothing is more ridiculous than a bunch of white kids listening to dancehall even you can't even fucking understand while participating in the whitest sport ever.

Well first off this is seems like a stupid and pompous thread to start. Honestly you think Bob Dylan is cool because he didn't die of cancer? Last time I checked still no cure. I personally think Bob Dylan is cool shit, 2nd greatest song writer next to Tom Petty IMOHO. I think it is kind of stupid how lots of kids just like Bob Marley cause he smoked weed. And the whole Rhasta color things is whatever, it's a style you dont have to beleive in it. It's like getting mad a non-golfers for wearing a Lacoste shirt.
 
you really can't compare the two since dylan is one of the fathers of folk music and marley is one of the fathers of reggae, totally different music. though i admit, I have way more dylan albums than marley since he's one of my all time favorite artists.

and Bob Dylan is 66 years old, though with all the cigarettes/weed/alcohol/drug usage over the years, he does indeed look about 100.

i don't get why enjoying a certain type of music makes everyone else see you as thinking your black or white... I am a suburban kid but i love listening to hip hop and all that good stuff i also like Marley but i don't get why people automatically think i am a wigger or "A prepubecent gangster" or what ever you called it
 
Whoever the threadstarter is, you are ignorant as fuck. that "pussy ass toe cancer" he died from, he could have stoped it. he chose not to because amputating goes against his religion. It's also dumb as hell that you are trying to compare these two. Personaly, I like marley much better, and however bad dylan's voice is, he was a filthy song writter.
