Ok

So im gonna come up with a list of movies that are pretty much NOT mainstream but some of the best movies of all time. Some of them get shunned by the media because they dont have good morals etc...Others just never got the attention they deserve, some are old movies that dont get the appreciation from todays generation. So everybody add to this list, but dont add movies like "braveheart" because braveheart is like a household name na mean?

so heres my beginning list

the brave little toaster

things to do in denver when your dead

the deer hunter

scarface

the big labowski

trainspotting

suicide kings

city by the sea

city of god

layer cake

thunderheart

blow

Fear and loathing in las vegas

the thin red line

best men

and national geographics "for all mankind" even though its not a movie, on weed

so go ahead and add to this list everybody if theres a movie that you think is awesome but nobody seems to know about

he brave little toaster

Requiem for a Dream

Hard Candy

Candy

The Invisible

It got a lot of acclaim though, from people who know and enjoy good movies, so I wouldn't call it underrated. At least not by people whose opinion really matters.

The thing about most great movies is they don't get overlooked very often. Half the movies listed here are fairly mainstream. Deer Hunter? Scarface? Children of Men? Boondock Saints? Come on.

I should, however, like to add The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou.

Hard Candy made me angry, a skinny 14 yr old girl physically overpowering a 30 yr old dude just didnt seem right

for all mankind is a national geographic documentary of the landing on the moon. it has the best footage ever, and if you watch it when your stoned out of your mind on a huge tv then you will think you are on the moon i swear

true these are all great films

the wind that shakes the barely (irish film came out last year should have done much better)

to live and become (its a must see for sure)

chasing amy (always get overshadowed by clerks, but i think its almost as good)

casino (classic)

city of god (probs the best ghetto based movie i have seen)

layer cake

earth, water and fire trilogy (indian film, no its not bollywood, check it out)

i know there are more but cant think of any atm

im kinda surprised theres no old style films...some are actually really good.

EX. Rear Window

To Catch a Thief

Roman Holiday

Some classic american films c'mon

Evil Dead

Evil Dead II

Army Of Darkness

Life Aquatic

Waiting...

Where The Buffalo Roam (Hunter S Thompson film, played by Bill Murrey)

Trainspotting

Reservoir Dogs

And why is everyone saying Scarface and Boondock Saints, those moview don't really get overlooked. At all.

becuase they probably just found out about the movie last month and think they're the only ones that know about it.

and jd is right, most of these movies get overlooked for a reason.

im glad someone said the chumscrubber, i was fortunate enough to be sloppy and catch it on hbo at like 4am last night, and for that movie it made it that much better
