Lips of jumps

whats the proper way to make a lip of a jump? i guess im just sick of these jumps that throw me off balance as im about to go off o f it.

i used to think that making the jump as shallow as possible was the key, but that is totally wrong. as long as your jump is consistent in its transition, it floats u so well

when you build a freestanding jump build a flat platform and then construct a lip on that so your path doesn't look like this:

\

\

\/

but more like this:

\

\

\_/|

ive found the best way to go, get some snowboards, and carve chunks/ blocks out of the ground (snow)and stack them, putting the larger ones at the back, and the smaller ones at the front, then take filler snow, and make it into a cheese wedge, then pile more snow right where the jump starts to make sure that where the trail goes from flat to your jump is nice and curved

Pile up a bunch of snow, push it back and make side wall frames of how the jump is going to look like then fill it in.
