Linksys Forwarding ports for torrents

I heard that this makes you download torrents far faster. Will someone explain me how to forward the ports, i have an idea i just don't want to f it up. Any help would be appreciated

Well if your looking to port foward your router first you obviously have to 1) Know about Ports and 2) Go into your router through your browser (duh). From there you should see a port map. I havent used a linksys since college but hey...once in there look at all the ports and see which are open in corrolation to your firewall if you have one. Then Id google something like "Linksys port map" and see which controls P2P applictions and to see which your torrnet client uses. Just what Id do. But to be honest I havent exactly heard of fowarding to increase torrent download speeds. Its based on seeds and leechers. If theres only 1 seed and 2000 people downloading off that one seed its not going to go very fast. Youre going to have to wait for more seeds. Just FYI

just do a google for torrent port fowarding. Or look on the official site that you got your torrent client from (probably safer). and then do that he ^^ said. Basically it will have 2 blanks and in the middle it will say "to". Put in the numbers you find. then make sure all the boxes are checked correctly (its obvious what needs to be checked for this) and then hit submit. When your done, even though it wont actually show you which ports you just fowarded, it should work. atleast thats what my linksys does.

you may not get a speed increase, but then again, you may. I know I did this for soulseek and I noticed a speed increase.
