I have this year's chronic's and really like them but also like my friends msp's. next year i'll need bigger skis so i think ill get fat chronic's (i think thats what they are) or msp's or stl's... What should i get?

When i grow up i wanna be a ski patroler and bitch at those crazy kids with skis that turn up in the back and who ski backwards.... its dangerous you know

Given that no one here has skiied the chronic wide yet, you might have to wait on a reccomendation there. Also consider the VCT once we hear about it. Fatter than the MSP.

I heard that Line is putting dust from the moon in their skis to make them not as influenced by the gravity of the earth. Has anyone heard of this new technology?

4frnt skis

line makes better skis, and they actually push the industry, as opposed to just suckling off of it like 4frnt.

Hey bacon, my camera can beat up your camera in the dark.

^WHAT??? Ever hear of P-Tex sidewalls? 2.5mm Rockwell edges? Bomber skis??

Line makes a cap ski that's now manufactuered in China. What's so revolutionary about that? And if it's 'suckling off the industry' you want, look no further than Line. Let's not forget they're a skiblade company that saw more money in twins.

I'm not too sure on this, but I think line might have the thickest edges. And what about the 4frnt binding compared to the line binding? A simple logo adjustment compared to a total redesign? Sterbenz just got too old to have any other sponsors so he made his own company.

Hey bacon, my camera can beat up your camera in the dark.

and another thing, ask any engineer an they will tell you cap is stronger. WHere is the progression with 4frnt? it just seems like they're copying everyone else. With line they're the first to step out of line and try new stuff. The pistols for example were inspired by the moships. And who made the fattest ski ever? o that's right line. And if you say the prophets are useless, try skiing on them. SO bitches please shut up, you have no idea what you're talking about.

Hey bacon, my camera can beat up your camera in the dark.

4FRNT went with a binding that works, that's been proven, and not something that'll break after you just paid over $300 for it. And I think she's talking more skis, and no you're wrong, 4FRNT's are the thickest edges.

And if the whole company was a ploy for Sterbenz to sponsor himself, why would Steele, Vinnie, Van Valin, Ramaley, Karlstrom, Hjorleifson, and the rest sign up to join him?

You obviously have no idea what you're talking about, so quit talking out your ass.

Why do people think P-Tex sidewalls are a good idea? There's a reason Armada quit using them after 1 year. The fact is, while the P-tex may be durable, it doesn't hold well against the edges and topsheet. So your entire ski comes apart. I know, because I have some sitting right here.

HA, you think a cap is stronger??? You've been talking to Salomon too long. Why then is every ski on the World Cup Race circuit, WC Bump circuit, WC Aerials circuit a sidewall constructed ski??? I guess you and Line figured out something everyone else hasn't.

P-Tex sidewalls are better than ABS. Armada stopped using them because Elan didn't want to build them. It wasn't their sidwalls that were the problem, it was their tips and tails that would blow apart, not to mention the factory they were coming out of in Quebec is known for these problems.

Snowboard companies have been using this technology for years. ABS tends to crack under the stresses of freeride use, PTex will NEVER crack. It's just as strong, lighter, and more durable than ABS. It actually bonds to the edge really well, so that if you did happen to crack your edge, the sidewall will hold it in place instead of it ripping out.

Just because Armada gave up on some great technology, doesn't mean it doesn't work, almost every snowboard company out there has a model with UMHW sidewalls.

On the 4frnt STL's I have sitting in front of me, the edges are still very solid, but they have completely seperated from the rest of the ski. On both skis, and they weren't even skied that much. I've never seen that happen to ABS, or a capped ski.

then you got a faulty pair of STL's fairview. i ski the hell out of mine, and there hasnt been one problem

I live out east and ski about 60% park and 40% all mtn are the msp 180 too wide for me? I think the stl's would seem to be too soft for me and I like a stiffer ski.

-Alex

I also skied 05/06 skis the last few days at Copper, and the new 4FRNT's ski amazing. The new STL's have way more pop in the tail this year, and the new Supermodel is amazingly stable.

i just got a 4frnt t-shirt in the mail... holy shit it is so nice.. the fabric... mmmm.. it is the best quality t-shirt i have ever seen.

Niether of the two are real skis. they both make gimmicky park skis, but 4frnts are definately the better of the two. Lines are the softest skis ever and pretty much suck. (and they make snowlerblades......)

Lines new bindings are pretty killer though.

clearly, they figured out that we are skiing for fun, and not racing. you need a different ski for aerials and moguls and racing than you do for freestyle in general. do i see racers sporting twins? no. they dont need them. they need a ski with a lot of sidecut and edge hold for staying put on ice. mogul skis are generally very skinny, with a fair amount of side cut. they are designed for quickness in turning and being nimble, so they can go fast in the bumps by being fast edge to edge. aerials skis could be perfectly straight, as they dont pop, but just ride off the jump. all they need is something that is short, with a good tip in the front. when i get a ski for allmtn/park, i want something with a waist about 80mm so i can ski pow with it, and still be nimble in the park. i need a full on twin, for fakie in pow, and not hooking on landings. my chronics, with their cap construction, work fine. check your facts buddy. sorry this is so long

Rubber Ducky steeze, awwwwww!

sorry boys, there was no pro hoeing-skibrdingbtch

However, they are little bitches that haven't even heard of metal edged skis or the clitoris-twintipteles
