Line...

i will only say it is all one big fucking CORPORATE CONSPIRACY...blood sucking companies slithering their way into something pure and positive.

that is the lowdown

have you heard of a company called Pacific?? they own Mongoose and all of those Wal-Mart bike companies???

It looks as if they are buying LINE for $27,032.00

(joke)

how, i said i dont know the lowdown, and MOST LIKELY everyone else doesn't know the whole lowdown. i plainly said i dont know, which means I DON'T KNOW EVERYTHING!!!

So there you go friend. If i had direct talk with someone like Jason I'd believe what is being said on here. Most people on here are giving their own scenario

Anyway, a gas station we pass. We got gas, and ran off to get grub.It was a nice little pub in the middle on nowhere. Anywhere woulda been better. I ordered enchiladas and I ate 'em, Ali had the fruit punch.

I'm sure Line will soon tell everyone what their plan is.

Line is far from selling out, if anyone is, my bet is on some pros who are leaving core companies for more money with companies that have no true soul in freeskiing....

pretty radical eh shradical...... yeah i made it up just now. i know it's so hilarious, but settle down

Anyway, a gas station we pass. We got gas, and ran off to get grub.It was a nice little pub in the middle on nowhere. Anywhere woulda been better. I ordered enchiladas and I ate 'em, Ali had the fruit punch.

Everyone who posted in this thread has no idea about what's going on. Why don't you get the word straight from Jay Levinthal before you make stupid assumptions and post them online. That's how rumors get started, and it's really uncool.

Hey Nicole,

Just for the record, Trak Sports is a TINY corporation. Their total gross revenue for a fiscal year is less than 8% of just Salomon, and K2 and less than 3% of Quicksilver, which of course owns Rossi/Dynastar along with a grip of other brands.

Trust me, if anybody on this site knows it's me.

For everyone else...

It's true there are changes going on at the Line brand. Some of you will probably be stoked, and some of you probably won't. The only claim I will make is that we're still just as focused on the sport of skiing as ever. We will continue to progress skiing as much as we can for as long as we can. That doesn't necessarily mean just paying the top pro in the world to endorse our skis, but it does mean listening to riders...like Eric and just like you...about what we should build next.

Regarding the comment about why Eric doesn't ride our "normal" skis...Eric is continually progressing and pushing his own riding. That means we're continually progressing and pushing the development of the skis we build for him. While it's true that he may ride one of a kind prototypes, it's also true that the skis that he rides and his ideas greatly influence the production of our "normal" skis. The perfect example is the Invader. That ski was heavily influenced by the Elizabeth which was heavily influenced by the 150mm waisted prototypes Eric rides in Powder. By the way, most pros are not riding the same ski that ends up on the retail sales floor. If a company has any type of R&D department they've got their athletes riding new ideas and concepts that will eventually turn into the great skis that you all buy at market.

Lastly, the one thing Line is not doing is selling-out and only trying to make money. However, Line does need to make some money. For 10 years Line has progressed the sport of skiing, product design, and promoted athletes...all while losing money. When Line finally strategically decides it might need to break even, every one assumes that J is rollin' in money, driving his Yacht accross the Atlantic. It's not the case.

Just wait until the new website launches and you'll see the new direction of Line.

Jordan Judd

just wait a while, and you'll see what Levinthall is doing. It's never been about the money for them. They dont drive H2s with dubs and hydraulics, and they dont make any more than they deserve. Jason's ALWAYS been about doing new and crazy shit, thats why he started the company, and he's doing it again now, so just chill out and wait. I think everybody's gonna like the outcome

That's what Hitler said.

J-Squared... are you serious... nearly all freestyle ski athletes ski on the exact same skis the public gets.

I'm not arguing with you that what Pollard is doing is bad or it somehow makes line gay (there are plenty of other things that do that) The fact of the matter is; pro freestyle ski athletes ski on the same stock the public gets.

See, now here's something that I actually believe. Why, some of you may ask? Well, because he actually works at Line and knows whats going on directly. Unlike most of us on here. Thank you for posting this.

And Fairview knows what I was talking about.

Anyway, a gas station we pass. We got gas, and ran off to get grub.It was a nice little pub in the middle on nowhere. Anywhere woulda been better. I ordered enchiladas and I ate 'em, Ali had the fruit punch.

actualy lil horsey, the pros dont all ski on stock skis...most of the pros that have pro models ski on skis that wont be out for at least another year....maybe pollard is just skiin on skis that wont be out for 2 years, makin him and line ahead of the game. i think that everyone in this thread with the exception of jordan have absolutly no clue wut thhey r talkin about and r talkin out of their asses

here is it, this sport schould not be about huge amounts of money thrown at skiers to show off their products. This sport is still very very new, and we have a chance to change the way people think about pro sports today. Our pros schould just ski to ski, make films just ride. I know what people are gonna say " Well they can't make a living that way." Well this sport is not about money, and schould never be about money. I think independant companies schould stay independant.

Skiing is more then just a sport, it is a lifestyle, a culture. We schould fight to keep ours, to keep it from becoming corporate.

Matman10: Man lat you had that 7 down but you binder poped off

Laterails:Yeah i think they aren't adjusted, or it could be the fact that all that is holding them together is one of my pubes

its kinda like this.... they have no cash, so they can't really afford these athletes they rather produce ski equipment thats hot fire than supporting your supahero on skis. peace to the out to line for representing what skis should be like and not fretting on what other companies are doing. keep it real jay!

haha well buddy, someday you will realize the food your mommy puts on your table isnt free and the skis you ride on cost money. When that day finally comes you will realize pro skiers need money just like you and me. until then, shut up.

I am all for our sport staying core, but the people at line need food too

I really don't care if they have pros. They have the BEST skis out there BAR NONE!! and if you think different I'd like to know why.

Armada... thin ass bases and edges crack like its their job. I have a pair. Love them, but...

4frnt... p-tex sidewall...hmm lets just imagine what would happen.

All the big companies?? ... if you're supporting them, then u might as well be snowboarding or just not care about the progression of smaller companies.
