me: i warrantied some 1260s, but you sent me the wrong size.

LINE: what size?

me: 164s

LINE: well your file shows you sent in 164s

me: yes, but i asked for 177s and you said no problem, in fact, you said you didnt even have any 164s in stock

LINE: yes, it says that here too, but we probably just sent 164s because we had some sitting in the factory

me: but i didnt ask for them. could you please send me the 177s instead?

LINE: sorry, we cant, we already sent you the 164s.

well, i am too tall for 164s now, im 6 foot, and LINE wont send me the 177s...so what should i do? call up the northwest line rep? sell the 164cm 1260s?

sucks, but at least you got new skis. some companies dont even really give u a choice on size, i warranty'd 175 tm's and was trying to get 165's for my gf to ride, and they said u only get what u send it

sell them on ebay

well when i called first, line told me that they would have no problem sending the 177s, so that is why i am kind of mad, because i was planning on skiing on them for the rest of the season, but 164s are really too short for me.

that sucks but i'd like to know if the waranty is really good cause i bought some 2 months ago and they broke when the stuck in the snow when i was falling(i wasnt event jumping) and there was no rocks and i didnt even jibbed with them cause im starting to ski and they look brand new except for the edge on the tail that broke and now i can see and touch the foam on the tail...do you think i'll have new one(they are 1260's) and is it really long before having the skis?

hmmm, the 1260s are wood core, so i dont really know what you are talking about, but they should warranty them if you didnt do anything crazy with them...and i may just have to take that kid^^up there's advice and bring them to a shop because line isnt being all that cooperative.

i know they are wood core but theres something like foam or something else i don't really know alot about but theres some shit out of the ski and i dont think it's good...

But is it really long before having the new ones back and is there alot of chance of having new one if the edges and the base are perfect??

 
if i send my skogens in.....how long will it be before i get them back....lets say they left today....is it gunna take months to get back?

Hello-

I'd like to address this issue from Line's and all manufacturer's point of view.

1.) The person in question sent in a 164cm 1260 for warranty. He received a replacement pair of 164cm 1260s.

2.) I'm not quite sure how this screwed the person in any way. If the skis are too small for him, then I question why he purchased 164s in the first place. I also can't help but wonder what he was planning to ski on for the rest of the season before he warrantied his skis since he said he's especially mad because he was planning on riding the 177s and now the 164s aren't good enough. The warranty program at Line and at all companies is there to make sure you are taken care of when our product doesn't hold up like we say it should. For a direct quote, go tohttp://www.lineskis.com/communicate/contact.php and click on the warranty details link at the bottom of the page. The warranty covers manufacturer's defects. It does not mean that you can slide hand rails all year, beat the shit out of your equipment, and then get a new pair every year for the next three years. It also does not mean you can get a different size when you decide the skis you originally purchased are too short, fat, long, skinny, soft, stiff, etc. I know that we have one of the strongest and most liberal warranty programs in the industry. We build quality skis, and we stand behind those skis.

That being said, I know that if we had the skis in stock that the person in question asked for, we would have given them to him. The cost for us is the same, and if makes you happy we would do it. We're not out to screw anybody, or to promise and not deliver. The fact is we're sold out of 177 1260s. However, I still stand by my original statement that it's not our job to always have in stock the exact product you need warrantied, especially when you're asking for a different product than what you originally purchased.

Please, people, I implore you. Don't abuse the warranty programs of the industry, because they are there for your benefit. But if they become too costly, ALL warranty programs will disappear and you will have no protection. Line, Armada, 4FRNT, Salomon, K2, Rossi, and Dynastar cannot afford to replace your skis every time you grow six inches, or chip your top sheet on the 1,000th rail slide of the season. However, if you truly have a problem because we screwed up and your ski doesn't hold up, give us a call, we're more than happy to work with you.

thanks for clearing everything up! i wasnt trying to say you screwed me over at all, i was just asking people what they thought i should do. i was just a little bit confused because the person i talked to said they didnt have any 164s in stock, and that it would be fine to send 177s. other than this slight misunderstanding, you guys have dealt with every thing great. and by the way, i bought the 164s about a year ago when i was 14, and i grew about 6 inches since then. anyways people, dont take my post wrong, line is great about stuff and i like their skis, i was just wondering what to do...

just sell them and use the cash for chronics, such a nice ski. but yeah, what Jordan said is defiantely true, like i mentioned above. Most companies dont even give u an option on what they return to you

yeah i didnt disagree either...i think ill take your advice, sell the 1260s and work a little over the summer...get chronics. its a good plan.

^good plan, i wouldn't complain, cuz they did send u new skis, and replaced your old ones, its not their responsibility to provide u with new skis cuz u grew. unless thats in the warrenty which would be sweet

i had a pair of 1260s the orange ones, that i killed in like a week, because the ski was crappy. i walked them down to the factory and they replaced them with the next years mike nicks. id say thats a damn good warranty.

my buddy sent in a pair of lines that the tips and tails got bent, they sent them back with labels on them that said 'this tail its bent' i couldn't believe it.

i actually talked to Kim Whitten today from line about my skogens...she was super nice...understandable and really helped ya out..but she said that they were totally out of stock due to off season...but she said if the shop you bought them from had ur skis in-stock then they would replace them for you....if ur local shop had to talk to line they would and then its basically line replacing them....they were suprisingly nice

hey, an update on this, i talked to martine butler, and apparently its a 50 dollar charge to upgrade to the 177 for me...so i just have to send them back in with a money order for 50 dollars.
