Line vs. Armada

Crack.

Anyone want to put there two cents in. And tell your reason why you prefer either one. I am getting new skis and I want to know what you guys think.

well the line invaders are good and cheap thats why it seems everyone has them

both make great skis and its just a matter of which brand you want to support

in my opinion armada is get to big and its kinda becoming the burton of skis

its blocking out other companies just like burton has done

no offence to either burton or armada because both have great products

but i like to have more than one company for options

judging by u only having 1 post, u clearly didnt read what he said. he never said armada was bigger than ony other ski company, he said they have the hype of burton so dont be a fucking smartass

I like the direction line is going with their skis. That and maybe my lines have outlasted my armadas

line makes extremely nice skis, and they're super cheap so instead of spending

$600 on a pair of armada's... go with line and spend the rest on some nice boots or bindings

i have chronics and have had them for 3 years now, they look almost brand new, theyre super durable skis. I have never skied armada's but ive always liked them and Iam actually thinkin of gettin a pair this summer so this thread has also helped me out!

Line has a record of delam issues so hopefully they fixed it with next years sidewall skis. Their current skis are all CAP. Armada is pretty bombproof in my experience.

i love and support and ski Lines because they are cheap, durable, and sick skis. They are always coming up with technology that people think will never work, and then 4 years alter every ski brand has a spinoff of something Line originally did. Now i dont have a problem with armada, i like their skis, but when it comes to the high schoolers budget, $500-$600 is wayyy to much to pay for a ski that will get thrashed eventually, when i can by a ski i like much better for $300-$350 bucks....thats just my take on it...

I manage the Alpine side of things for the ski shop that gave Armada there big retail break in 02/03, there is still minimal hype for Armada. As far as Burton goes... Zero hype. Before you go and believe everything you read in a ski magazine, take some time and talk with the people in the industry. Armada is an amazing product with the best reps in the business, and they are STILL an independent ski company.

Yes, Armadas are now made in the Atomic factories, but the people who have influence in the skis are the same. Tanner and Tony and JP/Julien will never lose their influence in the company so the quality didn't go down because of this, it actually increased and Armada's skis are now even more bombproof than ever before.

Armada is made in the Atomic factory in Austria, but Atomic only presses the skis and has no say in the design. Line is owned by K2 inc. Line skis are made in the K2 factories... In China.

actually i thought armada had moved to head as it's manufacturer. We had some armadas show up in head boxes at my shop. As far as line delam issues, there have been almost zero posts this year about that. the first year the invaders came out was the problem, since then, it hasn't happened. Line and k2 have worked their asses off to deliver a bombproof product, so much in fact that only a few years ago i said i would never buy line, and am now currently riding a pair of anthems. They are a straight up awesome ski.

If you remember last year i also made the post "line skis changes it's name to eric pollard" and they do use a lot of pollard's ideas in their skis. why not? in a few years we will be seeing even more fat skis produced by other companies, rockers, and different side cuts. The elliptical side cut line uses is awesome. It actually makes me want to ski more because it's so fun. I now have zero problems with line, and i'm still going to poke fun at them because line is a fun company, and thats what skiing is, fun.

Coming from riding armadas, and scott skis, line is a good change up to the mix, and I'd give them a look first, your wallet will thank you at the very least.

line makes a bunch of sandwich construction skis, and have been doing so for a few years.

i think line takes better care of their target customer better than anyone else in the skis they make, the quality they deliver and the price its all packaged at.

The only experience with Line I have had is riding my brother's Invaders, which were a really fun ski, but they fell apart pretty fast. I have never ridden any Armadas. I think Line has better pricing and it's really cool how they sponsor all the 'Mountain Command' people. I don't think Armada is owned by a larger company, but I know Line is owned by K2, so i would rather have my money go to a more independant comopany, although I know Line is pretty independant from K2 anyway. I don't know where Armada is made, but I'm pretty sure Lines are mad in china which kinda sucks. Those are just soem pros and cons taht i know of, i don't really have much of an opinion about which is better.

My boyfriend has Chronic's and he beats the living shit out of them. They look pretty damn good for what they go through.

meh line 4 life. if your not sold on their product and technology, just look at the comparison in graphics. line has superior graphics to any ski company, and armada's have been seriosuly slacking this year and next year even

I've never skied on Line but i've heard of a lot of bad and good things about them.

I now ski armada instead of volkl. They rock and I've never heard complaints, except that the tops sheet wears off.

I have yet to ski on lines, but I am hopefully going to get a pair of lizzies for next season. I love line as a company, and how they have the balls to come up with really unique concepts and designs (butter zones, early taper, eliptical sidecut, ect.) And now that the skis are made in the K2 factories, the durability of their skis will only improve.

Line has really fun skis to mess around on even when your not in the and ive never had a prob with them

Both are solid companies, each one takes good care of their customers and delivers good products. My friend has Armada skis and he really enjoys them, their def the most bombproof skis I have ever seen, hes had a pair for 3 years are they look new. I myself however, ride Line skis and will continue to ride them next season. I have the 05-06 invaders (yes the ones with shitty durability) and besides the durability problem they are one of the funnest things i have ridden. I know Line fixed their durability issue, and their new invaders look amazing (look 10x better if you see them in person).

Id say go with Line just because I have had no problems with their skis and they def make a legit product. However Armada can be just as good, if you have the money go for some Armadas they will be a good investment, but if u want a ski that is just as good and cheaper go with Line. Either way im pretty sure you will be happy with what ever you choose.

yea right

anyone who knows twins knows armada

most ppl know line too

but burton has shaun

and armada has tanner

a lot of ppl look up to them and copy what there riding

lots of fans= lots of hype

the product might be great but it comes down to the rider

the skier makes the skis popular

not the other way around

my armadas were shit 3rd day... snapped the side walsl were fucked the edges were comming out and the toop sheet was goneeeeee

armada deffinitly is not blocking out other companies....its not thier fault they make good shit..wait i guess it is..its not their fault that kids want good shit and want to support a core company

Both companies are sick, but im way more stoked on line just because of the bang for your buck = sick skis, sick graphics and great price

I have never owned Armada's but would like to in the future.

I'm liking my anthems better than i ever liked my thalls i skied for two and a half season.

look man this thread will go all day, and everyone will have different opinions and mine is toward line, but find some one who is demoing them and ride them yourself and find out best way to go.
