Line Traveling Circus .vs. Line Chronic

So im looking into getting new skis next year and i have narrowed it down to two choices, the line chronic and the line traveling circus. I like the TC but i heard that they chip really easily. I like the chronics but they don't have butter zones and i love myself so good butters. I ride mainly park, but sometimes i like to mess around on the trails. If you have ridden either of these skis, let me know what is good and bad about them. Thanks!

ehh who gives a shit if the top sheet chips, it gives the ski character... if you want a buttery ski go with the traveling circus

How big are you, I can still butter my chronics fairly easily? If you aren't a toothpick get the chronic. It is an al around far superior ski imo

Just because there are no "butter zones" doesn't mean you can't butter in them, so you will be fine. Don't get the TC's. They have a crappy extruded base, which is less durable and slower than a sintered. They suck for anything besides park, due to being fully symmetrical and crazy soft. The chronics seem like a better fit for you, being a little bit stiffer and mildly directional so you can still have fun on the mountain, but definitely look at some skis other than line as well, like the Faction Somas or J Skis NS.

Got both Chronics and 2010 Anthems (Basically the TC) and both are cool skis.

The Chronic is quicker around the mountain owing to the Sintered base and a little poppier and lighter, I mounted at marked centre and they ride really well, not too directional and skied switch fine with a pretty balanced swing weight. not had a chance to see how they ride at speed yet as I only rode them for a couple of runs before ending myself, but have skied them indoors a bit and they were great to jump and hit rails on.

Anthem/TC is softer and more jibby, bit slower in comparison but not bad (still hit 115kph on them) and not too chattery at speed. Completely symmetrical so rides great switch and has nice even swing weight.

The fact they are a tiny bit heavier made them feel a little more solid under foot.

If you ride a greater % of all mountain go Chronic, if you ride more park get the TC. Both are pretty solid everywhere though, if anyone says you can't ride either in the park, in powder, in the bumps or speeding around the mountain and jibbing they're probably not a very strong skier.

My 2 cents, hope it helps.
