Line Skis

Thinking of buying SFBs but I have heard controversial opinions regarding their durability.

My question is:

Do line skis have shit durability or are line skiers over-sending animals?

If you’re not gonna grind rails on them you’re gonna be fine. They’re not ment for park anyways.

My suck days lasted about 30 days before the topsheet chipping reached the core, never used in rails, no rocks hit, never banged together on the lift

U is pretty close to I on the keyboard, was that a typo or on purpose? kek.

line skis have really questionable durability within their park lineup, which varies between each ski. if you’re looking to ski all mtn / powder then it shouldn’t really be an issue. although i’ve heard issues with lines snapping.

This question was made for me. I’ve broken two pairs of SFBs.

SFBs are fun as fuck (ski exactly like you expect them to based on marketing/public opinion) but the durability is a real issue. If you get a pair:

1. Don’t hit rails. Like not ever. Not even a little bit. Not even with a detune.

2. avoid skiing them on early season pow days where there are sharks lurking. If you regularly get into terrain where there is rock exposure, just don’t. I’ve mashed rocks 10x harder on my ON3Ps/Moments and had no damage, but I once got 4 core shots and a blown out sidewall in one sharky day on the SFBs.

ps I don’t send that hard ;)

There's a grain of truth to the durability. You get what you pay for basically. That being said SFBs are notorious for delams especially if you're buttering or backseat landing. I've worked in a shop for three years and I've seen more SFB delams than any other ski combined
