Line skis Capped?

do line skis use capped construction?

I know the difference between sidewall and capped but i'm not sure why sidewall is more durable than capped. If sidewall is more durable is the only reason line isnt using sidewall becasue it is expensive?
 
mostly cap, although if memory serves me i think when I saw some of last years lizzies they were sandwich... not sure on that. I know for a fact though invaders and chronics and such are cap. not really sure on the differences, all I know is I've seen a lot more capped skis falling apart then sandwich.
 
my brand new 07 invaders are capped and capped SUCKS! huge chunks are coming out of the topsheet after only a couple days of use. id be willing to spring the extra money for durable inv aders and not ones that are gonna fall apart
 
i wont ever again. except my old pe's were made in china and they were bombproof, i gues thats cause they were sandwich ptex though
 
i dont really hear about the chronics/blends falling apart but i hear a lot of the invaders falling apart (i know last seasons just sucked because of the delam issue) but this season already too. why is that? they are both capped
 
i bought some moships last year and only ridden them like 20 times this year and they are sort of fallin apart... when i got them there was a bubble in the tail and it caused a bit of delam... i took a chunk out of my topsheet the size of a quarter... and now where the topsheet and my side edge meet that is starting to split apart and its like 3-5 inches long or so...you think i could get a piar of new lines?
 
To anyone that has seen or rode the anthems they are capped right? are they going to be durability wise between the invaders and the chronics?
 
Yes, Anthems are capped. And don't listen to nomensteven about anything. The quality of skis made in China is actually higher than it was over here. Look at K2 for proof. That said, Fujatives are pretty fucking crappy skis, although not quite as bad as silencers. Invaders aren't that bad, they just aren't particularly durable. Which is why they're a park ski; you were going to fuck up your park skis anyway, they might as well not cost anything and butter like it's not even a thing. How you managed to take chunks out of the topsheet skiing park, I don't understand. Unless the edges did it, which could easily happen to another ski.

Head's twins are capped, and possibly the most durable skis you can buy. Don't hate on cap construction.
 
wow, fujis suck, i don't know what people are talking about, i've seen quite a few snap, including my own aftr 15 days, they're way too soft. and they do lose their camber really fast, as do all K2s, and this is a fact because K2 presses their camber into the skis instead of starting with it making it lose the camber faster.
 
Yes line skis are capped I still have a pair of the green skogens and they are still holden up sorta the edges are chipped and warped but there is no delam and barelly any topsheet chipping and the chips that are there are from bad falls onto rails or icy jumps. The cap construction is not as strong as sidwall but can hold up. Im 6 foot, 205 lbs and they held up for me. Most high end skis are sidewall construction.
 
well Line does have an awsome customer service and if the issue with their skis is warrentyable, jus send em over and ull get new ones
 
i think the 1st generation fujatives were bomb proof, but i had last year's pair and they sucked...by far the least durable ski i had ever ridden, next to the invaders
