LINE SFB (Sir Francis Bacon) Choosing size

Hi there!

I am looking some skis for big mountain resort. Mountain ski, but still playful.

I like to ride out of the tracks in the fresh snow , forest, have some butters, 360, switch riding, park riding and have fun. (Park riding is not primary in the mountain trip, but still like to ride there too) I am not a fan of super speed riding on the super stiff sticks on hardpack and i am not aerobatics spin master.

I am 185cm (6'1)

82 kg (180 lbs)

I am thinking about line sir francis bacon, and there is 2 sizes 184 and 190. And i break my mind which will be better for me.

Otherwise i think Faction CT3.0 186 will be good and some other models, but...... i have really good discount for LINE skis, and primary looking for their models

What do YOU think i shall i do? :)

Hope on your advices guys, i break my mind. Help to choose size, or mb other line model

p.s. On the photo me and 190 SFB. Not too oversized for my purposes?

Definitely 184 since you are done growing i assume. Also since u like to dabble in the park, it’ll be better for manuverability.

I’m your size and had the 184cm SFB and from the sounds of your usage, that would be the right size. I’m a bit more aggressive skier and found them a little too soft and light for myself but for your needs they sound great.

The 190cm version adds stiffness and stability but it’s not going to be as nimble in tight spots so I’d recommend the 190cm version for those skiing in more open spaces at higher speeds.

If you get the ski, mount it a touch back from the “Eric’s Choice” Line as well to increase stability a bit. The recommended mount by Line themselves is about 0.6cm back from the printed line on the ski. Still only 2.5cm back from center(1.9 cm Eric’s) so still very fun and playful but a touch more stable.

Thank you, guys!

After your advices, I decided to buy 184 and tested it on newstarcamp in sochi.

It is a lot of pow now here and it is two snowparks. And ski good in the both :)

It is comfortable to spin and slide in the park and still good in a pow and nimble in the forest.

I agree that it will be more comfortable on 190 on in the open spaces and angry slopes, but I think it will be better to buy the wider ski also for those lenth…After tests i thing this ski is not for really big mountain freeride.

For my intermediate freeride level it is good all mountain ski now. For really adult freeride and big valleys and steep slopes i think i will buy a more wider, stiffer and longer ski later.
