Has anyone here skied these? I know they're only making like 100 pairs but these things are MASSIVE 150 tip 130 waist dont remember tail, these skis are fucking crazy...

^freerider the tail is 140 if i recall correctly, but for like what 900 bucks? thats not too bad considerin the price of the other huge skis out there

Why do you need a ski that fat its pointless. The fun part about powder is you sink in, if you just want to be riding the top of the snow why dont you go ride a groomer and save the powder for us. Seriously there is no need for a ski that fat, unless all you are doing is landing switch in powder....which no one on this site is doing.

CtRipper - First of all you live in the east, so your opinion isnt very valid in the first place. However water is alot heavier and more dense than snow, there is no way you could ride 'through' the water like you do with skiing in snow. So I mean there really isnt even an arguement there...Unless you jsut want my to explain to you why waterskiing is fun..

i wanna make a pair of prophets too, except i have no where to make them, not even a garage, so, shit. And, there is a point to a ski that wide, same floatation as a snowboard.

I bet you a ski like a prophet has alot more surface area than any snowboard...Youre forgetting snowboards are only 160 170 cm long, where as good powder skis ar around 190. I bet something like the pistol would have a surface area alot more similar to a snowboard than the prophet.

I mean there really isnt a point to a ski that wide, I live at alta utah and even the pistol was approaching the limits of too fat for everyday riding. Answer me this, why if you have 6 feet of fresh powder do you want to hydroplane over the top two inces of it? Shit thats retarted, you just wated 5 feet and ten inches of powder.

I mean people like pollard who are landing switch in powder...I can see the point. But the rest of you have no need for a ski this wide. I bet you in 5 years skis are still going to be around the dimension of a seth pistol. except for a very limited number of skis like the prophet that are designed specifically for landing switch in powder and basically nothign else.

I wouldn't mind owning a pair. If they never sell them again, and no compainy ever makes skis like that again, it might be nice to be 1 out of only 100 people to have the biggest ski ever made

Those phantoms eveyone was dissing are around the same specs this year and up for grabs at 180.

I agree about riding the pow and wanting to be in it. If there is enough fall line and its deep I just run the lbfs through it.

Those pollards cannot be mounted in the middle they must be mounted 1 cm to the inside.

I will say something about the bigger boards that is good. We can now hit harder lines with more speed, so in avie areas it is easier to escape you sluff or bigger slides if they happen, on old straight and skinnys most of the time if you got caught you went for a ride.

What you said is all true pretty much, but still I have rossi XXX's and they arent fat by todays standards at all. But still it only takes 25 feet of straightlining before you are on top of the powder as well.

how much do you weigh? because fatter skis are for fatter people. thats part of the reason they make them. easier for heaveir people to float or ski powder

I weigh like 180 am like 5'11, so im probably alot bigger than most people on here. And I though that the 189 Seth Pistol was getting close to to fat. I remember one day last winter when we had 6 feet of fresh snow....And still the snow was only coming up to my thighs, just seemed like a waste of sweet sweet powder.

So I bought the rossi XXX this year in hopes that it make ski a little better since its not quite as fat...I shall let you know.

Ok, 150mm waist is too much. thats more than a snowboard and its just way too wide. But the 130mm waist prophetes are reasonable. a ski thats 120-130mm, isnt too far off, snowlerbladers had 120mm waists.

they are a useless ski. A good powder ski but its not unlike the spatula a good\fat ski that can do but one thing. If you want to huck booters fine, if you want to mach a face fine but thats it. You can do it but its hard to turn em on the groomed so the park is out. now your just left with big ass toys.

there ar many guys doing what pollad is doing on less of a ski so it is toy for the ones with money
