Line Mastermind??? Good? Bad? Answer please!

Are the Line mastermind 2012 skiis good? durrabilty?

And is it okay when im 172cm and the skiis are 167cm? is that okay?

some reviews about the line mastermind?

I had them. They are super fun. Like REALLY fun and lightweight . Nice flex for butters. Rail masters . But the bases sucked after a week with no wax I could not clear a 25 foot jump straightlining it in. A ski that can't clear a small jump is not worth riding to me. So I sold them. Fun skis but need to be

Waxed.

OP, keep in mind what this guy said. The bases on the masterminds and afterbangs are extruded not the more desirable sintered, meaning they are terrible at holding wax, and are fairly slow.

I owned Line invaders, which also had extruded bases, and there was nothing more enraging than watching everyone in the park clear a jump, and then when i tried, i would knuckle the hell out of it.

Based on this, I would recommend either the stepup or the chronic. Both are great skis and do have sintered bases. They are a little stiffer though, and i think a 167 would be okay for you.
 
i was just looking through some thereds and some people said they break easily, have slow bases and have delamed.

Isn't that too big for me? Im kind of a noob just been riding twin tip for 1 year now and i rode the salomon suspect 10 last year.
 
well, bigger skis will make you a better skiier, the are more stable on jumps, go faster, and hold better at speed. If you have the chance and you are growing, you should go bigger... it will help your skiing. It will at first feel different but you will adjust. if you like rails and dont go at fast speeds, go for 167 or 172, if speed is what you like and you like stability on big jumps rather than all rails, go 177. 177 may also be more versitile if you plan to skis the rest of the mountain
 
Really fun ski that worked well until it started to top sheet of the ski completely separated from the tip of one of the skis. Got that glued back on, and then they snapped two weeks later.

Luckily line has a good warrantee policy and I got new ones, but you might not be so lucky
 
Had a pair, they broke a tail in 3 months. Not worth it if you hit big jumps unless you land perfectly all the time aka you are joss christensen

ur gonna want em a bit big, there soft and big jumps and high speeds wont be easy on shorter skis. and you will prolly grow, seriously its only a couple cm taller then you so it wont make that big of a difference
 
stay away from line especially the masterminds they fall apart in a second

look at armada k2 and check out dynastar theire 6th sense distorters got the best park ski in freeskier
 
I can't personally vouch for the masterminds durability, but I've owned two pairs of line skis, and both have had great durability. I hit mainly rails, and I've never even had an edge crack.
 
177 kind sir, dont go for anything else at your size + the line stepups are much better bigger... just go 175-180 at your size nothin smaller buddy
 
Whether or not the Masterminds are a good ski for you is more dependent on your ability and what you ski. Also, a park ski is a park ski, they are going to get some wear and tear after a while.

I used Masterminds for a couple of seasons and I enjoyed skiing on them. For a beginning park skier, they will work out great, and you shouldn't see many problems with them. That being said, I would not advise you to hit any 60 footers on them, as i would be suprised if you could get them to go fast enough to clear the thing let alone land.

This is nothing against the Masterminds, it is simply not what they are made for. They are a lively, light ski that can make ski progression more enjoyable. They make it easy to dabble in jumps and new tricks, and are a joy to use on rails. An avid jibber would have as much fun on this ski as an entry level park rider would.

If you are looking for an inexpensive ski that will last you a couple seasons and will help you take your skiing to the next level, look no further than the Masterminds.I bought my Masterminds for jibbing and progressing, and I have nothing but good things to say about them. If you want super fast skis that will make double corks easier and could cost you an arm and a leg, you are looking in the wrong place. How you use the skis will determine your experience with them.
 
I would not recommend these skis.. I skiied on them all last year.. The very first time I skiied on them my bottom got chipped up from a rail. The skis are sooo beat from just last season it isn't even funny. I did not think they were very durable at all... But they are fun. BTW my brother also had a pair of afterbangs and they got beat up pretty bad as well.. Line even sent him two new skis because of it.. So I don't hink I'm going with Line anymore.. Just my opinion.

 
I hope this helps you. I own LINE'S Mastermind 2010, i raged bout waxing a lot! like in only a week of skiing i waxed my skis three times! and yeah, its true, it is chipping a lot! but besides that is a SUPER fun ski.
