Line Eric Pollard Pro's or Prophet 130's?????

Hey wats ya guys think, the Pollard Pro's are fatter wit the 137 mm waist and cheaper than the 130's too....
 
you going to be skiing much switch? if not...prophets.

personally i would go with the ep pros eitehr way
 
these are 2 very different skis

the prophets are more for ripping huge lines and going really fast. ep pros are pretty much for super deep pow and sking switch in pow. maybe you should look for two skis that have more in common also ep pros are 127 not 137.

anyway, EP and prophet are very different. you can look for something in between, maybe the Bacon? it may be skinnier than waht your lookin for tho...
 
haha, you do realize that the "Eric Pollard Pro's" are the skis from like 4 years back with an 86 waist, haha, you're talking about EP Pros.
 
Prophets are stiff!! I was on them last season. They have metal running down them which helps with speed but they are hard to jib on as they have no flex!
 
Just another reason not to buy from them. If they can mess up a waist width that bad.. and let it be posted for all to see, then imagine what they would do to your zip code.

Prophet for charging! big lines, choppy snow, going fast as shit.

EP Pro's for jibbing the whole mtn, carving real easy switch and for riding the tails and tips buttering around

hahah forsure that would be a huge mess up, haha they even write on the sight that they are the fattest twin tip ever created, i guess there tryin to catch the eye of people like me who only went to one sight for research lol
 
how tall are you?

both the skis come in 186 so they are going to be a big things to throw around, but basically, its stiff or soft, if you want to charge it, go for prophets
 
i dont think the 130s dont have the metal in them, if you skied on the 90s or 100s, then they have metal, and im able to flex my 90s pretty well

those are the blends

there is a titanium sheet of metal on the 100, 90 and 80 s thay you are clearly able to see and feel

its so they dont go pippity poppity POP, its so they can charge like a real man/woman
 
if you're skiing ONLY ONLY ONLY fresh (as ih not tracked out at all) pow then get the EP pros, otherwise get prophets.
 
i have prophet 130s, and ive used them on the east coast. They are a FULL twin, not directional like the rest of the lineup ( but could be different for this year). They are super stiff, and carve like MAD. Surprisingly they aren't heavy at all ( my current AR5s are on the heavyer side). I love them. I have no idea how they compare to the EPs.
 
we're talking about the prophet 130s. I thought that was self explanatory. The blends have the carbon matrix, modeled after the metal matrix in the smaller prophets. The Prophet 130 has carbon STRINGERS which give it stiffness/pippity poppity motherfucking pop.

ps. stiffness equals pop. more energy to bend equal more energy put out when pressure released
 
this coming season. the 130 is the exact same except there is the smallest (a few mm) amount of rocker starting about a foot down from the tip.
 
Having owned Propeht 130s, I can say they don't have alot of..."pippity poppity motherfucking pop"...whatever that is.

They aren't super stiff (no, they don't have any metal in them as some are saying, can you imagine how heavy they'd be?) more like a mid flex, but they ride more stable than a hand flex would suggest simply because of the girth. They are a true full twin, and they land/ride switch in pow amazingly. They can also hold an edge on groomers and are pretty much great skis everywhere. I equate them to being a Ford F350 Pickup (whichever one is biggest,crew bad or whatever), whereas most park skis are more like a Honda Civic...they are a little different at first, they are longer, wider and heavier than what you're used to, but they are also alot more stable and commanding. Once you get used to them (about 5 runs or so and you'll be good) they tear it up. Never ridden the EP, but I loved my Prophets, they were awesome skis.
 
i completely agree with you man. i never said they were SUPER stiff. they are definitely stiffer than most skis that width. The carbon stringers help with that. How can you say they don't have pop though? if you use force and speed it returns it. ya, you dont get mad pop doing tiny ollies on groomers, but who cares?
 
I have the 05-06 130s and they are great. Much more nimble than I would have thought, and they power through chop and float great in the untracked. $300 is a stupid good deal.
 
just pulled the trigger, my buddy has reactors too so I won't need to buy bindings, at least at first, dunno if the extra weight will hurt or not, not like the prophets are lightweights

 
true but I'll have jibij set em up right, that worked for my buddy for a season on old EP pros (pre chronic wide ones), usually they fucked you up because the bsl was a bitch to set up right, won't be forever either, just til I save up for some nice binders.
 
Ah...well it wasn't the BSL I was talking about, just that they tend to break...or break the person clamped in them.

But hey man, lack of money is a great motivator for putting yourseld at risk.
