Line Dart poles

I need some advice on how to get the grip of, i have to make them shorter i have the "line dart" pole.http://lineskis.com/poles/dart-pole

I don't think a hairdryer will work, i think that the grib can melt

Heating it up is the only way to get it off. The glue holding it on is heat activated.

A bowl of hot water is your best friend, dunk, soak then pull off

heat it up then wedge the grip between a door and its frame (preferably a door that you wont care if it gets a little bit damaged) and pull. you want to be on the opposite side of the direction it opens and have the grip just above the door handle.
