Line Cronics?? I say so

Hey there NuSkoolerz, Ive been browsing around for a new pair of skis for the upcoming seasons. I've come across a few that really caught my attention, Im in the market for a pair of twintips that I can ski the entire mountain with from groomed hardpack to offtrail to above treeline to glades but also a ski that i can also bring to the park and build some park skills with. Im probably going to spend around 70 out and 30% in the park if I had to guesstimate. I've never owned a pair of twintips before nor have i spent much time in the park aside from getting in a good couple lines while heading back to the lift. Currently I own a pair of Volkl AC30's but decided i wanted to try a softer more playful ski so thats why Im here. Ill be skiing in the east the entire season(Im going to college in Hartford, CT theres a small mountain about 30min from the city but I have friends in NH and Maine so visits to better mountains wont be anything out of the ordinary)Im on the shorter side at 5'2" 130ish like i said im in the east looking for a solid 70-30 ski.
Ive looked at Amplid Antidogmas the amplid site markets them as a solid ski for all over the mountain

Line Cronics/mastermind/Prophet(90?)all I hear are great skis the mastermind being a more entry level ski but I know how to ski good enough in general so if i were to get the materminds I'd just get Cronics. A friend of mine has last years cronics(green in the bottom) and he says he loves them cause he can do anything on hem. Im not sure about the Prophet series tho cause Ive never heard prophet and park in the same sentence before.
K2 Kung Fujas once again marketed as a do it all ski
Rossignol S5 & S3
Volkl walls but im not a fan of the topsheet so fuckem
Idunna me personally I think Im gonna get the cronics but if you guys want to provide some advise thatd be cool.
and for Bindings whats good and whats bad who makes a solid inespensive binding?

the chronics are a sick ski but they dont really have the girth for powder. well just remembered about the chronic kryptonite, i would recommend that. its a little fatter then the regular chronic and i think it would suit you better for 70/30 allmtn/park

not really any super performance, My skis now are only 76 underfoot and cronics are 80something so anything would be an upgrade really.

how do you feel about the volkl bridge?
i have them and theyre super sick, my dad replaced his ac50's with bridges this year too.

If you are a good enough skiier you can ski powder on anything ( im not bagiin on fat skis cause i have some im just sayin) fat skis just make it eaisier

truth
race skis, in powder are awesome. it'll put hair on your chest!just like landing switch without twins
so buy a pair of race skis

Of all the skis being talked about in this thread the prophets are probably the best, but can you really lose? I mean there are probably 20 comapnies that make a ski that will do what you need it to, and do it very well. I wouldn't agonize over it too much, just find one of these many, many skis you like the look of, in a reasonable price range, from a company you want to support (that last one is very important) and go with that. Odds are, you'll be happiest with the choice that way, not if someone else talks you into something.

Seems lime you've done a decent amount of research and looking, which is something mroe people should do. That's better than "wat r teh best park skiz."

Anyway, I put my vote in for the chronics. I have 07-08s, the orange ones, and they are awesome. I pretty much ride more outside the park then in it, and they kill the entire mountain. I know how to ski outside the park very well, but my park riding is limited to 180s, 360s and other basic stuff right now. Since I'm in New Jersey, i can say they ski ice rather well and they kill slush/whatever else we get too. I'm 5'4 116lbs and ride 166cm for reference. They were/are my first pair of twins too. They aren't really soft, although coming from carver ski that i would assume is very stiff comapred to any park oriented twin, they'll feel softer. Everybody on here will say they are super stiff, but that's probably becuase half of them ride invaders (very soft) They are playful though, I can feel the energy store up an rebound in the tails going over rollers and such. They are super fun on ramps, i'm kinda bad at rails so i can't exactly speak for the preformance their. You can't really loose whith most of the choices you have, I don't know how the snow is in CT, the prophet 90s may be good if it actually snows there too. I saw some guy skiing slush and crap on those and he blew through everything. They don't seem much like a park ski though.

I'd say get chronics, hope that helped. I have salomon z10s on mine since they are pretty light, I don't know much about bindings though so i'll stop here.

Honestly I consider Chronics a park ski regardless of how they're marketed. That's not to say you can't ride them everywhere nut you can do that on almost any ski out there (Even invaders if you're determined). It's important to remember that until recently a 90mm waist ski was considered a fat ski. It's all about where you mount them. Obviously the closer to center the harder they'll be to ski in powder but the better they'll be in the park. But of all the skis you've mentioned I think you'd be happiest with the Fujas if you're planning on mounting close to center and skiing powder at all. But if your looking for a stiffer park ski that wont cost too much and that isn't intended to be center mounted I'd say the chronics may be the right ski for you. You might also wanna check out the ARV's or Alpha 2's (for the rocker) by Armada. As far as I'm concerned Armada makes one of the best skis out there and you definitely won't be disappointed at all with any ski you get from them.

Not to threadjack, but he^ is right, you can ski any ski anywhere. I'm taking my chronics to colorado at one point this year, and i hope i get to ski some pow on them. I've never skied a fat ski, and i think i've only ski real pow once at loveland, and i did it on rental skis that had to beunder 80mm in the waist.

Armadas are good though, i used some ar6s once and they were super fun too, very light and very poppy.

this. they are gonna be way better than the kung fujas and honestly id say the fujas are too wide and heavy for a beginner to learn park. the extremes have a huge big shovel so they will go through pow well depending on your mount and they kill it in the trees. i have p.e.s which are the same ski and they were fun except i had them mounted 6 or 7 back(i had no clue what i was doing). get em 2 or 3 back and youll love em. as far as size the 164 or 159 would suit

line chronic kryptonites. they're stiff and will ride similarly to the volkl's you have now. they are plenty wide for anything and kick lots of ass. you cannot possibly be disappointed with them.
