Line Bindings

From all reports (I'll have a pair in a couple weeks, I think to give a first hand account), they're bombproof, don't prerelease at ALL, and are just generally killer.

ive read good things about them...really good things...

if my next pair of skis are lines, i will for sure be grabbing a pair of these bindings...

Sorry guys, they only made 200 pairs this season. so if you don't have them now, you wont get them until next season. Even if your shop says that there coming in in a few weeks. They're all sold out. About how they ride, they ride great. They're a little tricky to get into, but its all good. I just found out today that they only made 200 pairs and im pretty psyched that i got a pair.

First up, the whole reason for the delay was because their contractor didn't make enough bindings. Line doesn't manufacture them in-house, they have someone else make them and that comapany didn't make enough and was thus in major breach of contract. I'm sure Line will sue their pants off.

Second, I have heard nothing about the 200 pair limit. It seems absurd, since every shop I've been to (in the Midwest!) has 2-5 pairs. There are more than 40 Line dealers in the US, that I'm sure of. I'll call my Line rep Monday.

Sorry bro, this came out of the mouth of jason levintal himself. The guy who runs our park was a co-founder of COC and is buddies with all of those brothers. He ask him at SIA when he would get his bindings and jason said just to mount another pair on his skis, cause there's no more. Because they only made 200 pairs this season. I think it was a good decision by line, because if any one specfic thing goes wrong with all of the bindings, the will be able to fix it relatively easy. Don't get pissed at me though, i didn't make that decision.

jason lev emailed me too, and he said there were no bindings left for this season. he didnt mention the specific nubmer 200, but he did say there are no more being sold this season.

as for reports, they seem to do what they are meant to, but heres the downsides ive seen talking to a friend who rides them:

1) heavy as fuck, he clearly needs more speed than any of us to clear tables, he has them mounted with skogans, one ski with a reactor binding is heaving than my pair of concepts with p14s

2) brakes, he always has to manually unlock his brakes from each, and is constantly playing around with the,

3) he heard this from the line rep, there are more than 60 parts in that binding and he definatly thinks there is room for one of them to break

but for all mountain skiing, those who arent hiking the park(dont have to constantly carry those payloads or fuck with the breaks) they seem like a nice piece of engineering

I got one of the first pairs of line bindings. I got them as soon as they came out. I used them twice and the size adjustment broke. I had my local shop send them in for me. They did so and I got another pair for free through the warranty. The new ones I got back seem stronger than the first pair I bought. I have used them about 4-5 times now and they haven't broken. The paint job seems to be a little stronger well.

My first pair had paint coming off all over the place and now these ones aren't loosing any paint. As for the whole deal with everyone saying how heavy they are, I say that they really aren't that heavy. Before I got these Bindings I was riding skiboards. Skiboards are a lot lighter than skis. My new skis don't seem that much heavier. These bindings are great. Anyone that says differently doesn't know what they are talking about.

i have picked up a pair of skogens with p12 and reactor and reactor is a bit heavier not noticeable.

I have ridden them no releasing problems.

The only problem i have is the plate and the way they mount the toe piece is not always in contact with the ski and snow gets in between the plate and ski and it just doesnt feel like you have the same control and response you get from a p12 or traditionalo bindin.

I like the technology just needs to be perfected a bit.

eric peterson save your phone call. I'm sure they will be sick of answering questions about that binding after madison this week. I rep for line around minnesota to help them out and they did only make 200 pr. this season. Which I assume is one of the reasons the pros aren't on them. With the heavy pre-orders that came in I believe that they sent the bindings out to everyone that ordered a pair and had a few left over for demo gear.

the line bindings are not that heavy, because line makes some of the lightest skis on the market right now. I demoed them with the new 1260's and they felt a bit heavier than my blue 1260's with the 810 ti binding.

mnfreeskier your shop probably pre-ordered them and got a fraction of there order and you just happened to be lucky enough to show up when they were in.

i have no clue of the number but i have two pair. one was when they first came out and the other more recently. the firstones were kind of thrown together and i felt shaky on them but the second pair were solid. i now have them on 1260's and have beaten the hell out of them but work just as good as day 1
