ya its been like that for a couple days now, i finally decide to start a thread because i really wanna know whats up! but i am afraid it might start/ have started rumors... but i want those skis!!! gahh
Not to worry, the Anthem's are still being made. K2/Line are having some legal issues with the drummer from KISS over the graphic. These skis are going to be sold out fast so do not worry if you have already placed a preseason order for them you will still be getting them. It is looking like they will be here mid/late November because of the legal issues. This is why they had to take the pic off the website. If you want to see the ski here it is:
i talked to josh bryant, he called some guy at the LINE CS...the knew nothing of a lawsuit...plus, wouldnt this issue had been takin care of far before production? somethings fishey, i jus want my anthems
Josh is very knowledgeable when it comes to skis and what is happening, but sometimes you have to go to the top to get the answers. Line felt it was easier just pulling the ski off the site for a few days while they got everything situated with taking care of any problems they have. The skis will still be coming and trust me this is not the first time that a company has gone through this.
K2 had to change the name of the Made N AK to AK Enemy because of the copyright infringements from Iron Madien since they used Eddie to crush the Helicopter on it. The pic did not change on teh ski and I do not believe the pic will change on the Anthem. It is another set back but this ski is in such high demand that this is only going to make it sell out quicker. The skis do have pics of the members of KISS on it, and if you go look at Maxim Magazine this month you will see a write up about the Anthem. I am sure you will learn more about what is happening next week when things are figured out and hopefully I will be able to give a better ETA for when they will be in.
Plus the SV is now just called the Seth. It surprises me that any of these issues are happening? Don't ski companies know anything about copyrights and infringement?
Yeah, I am surprised they have not caught onto the Nancy yet either. You would have thought all of this would have been taken care of before the ski ever even made it to the ski shows. You have to remember this is the ski industry and nothing is surprising anymore.
I heard that the ink Line was using to replace the ink on last years invaders is even shittier and they had to recall them because the topsheets have been peeling.
Yes, it has been cancelled, I will post the email as soon as I get it. the origibal came in by fax and my scanner is down. Anyone that has them on order will be a getting a phone call and/or email about it.
"Unfortunately due to potential legal issues relating to the Anthem's graphics we will not be delivering this model. Consequesntly, this letter is formally advising you that we are cancelling your current order for the Anthem and do not anticipate the ability to deliver this model to you at any point in the near future."
I'm pissed. The Only skis like this for a good price that don't have a crappy foam core. I wish they would just black out the top sheets and send out the fricken skis. Getboards was just like, "buy the Chronic Blends or the old ARV's" I'm not mad at line because getting sued or whatever sucks. I just hope it doesn't put them out of bussiness
I doubt its that many skis, but I'd like to know what the hell they are going to do with them as well. Are they just going to compact them? burn them? Store them and deliver the same skis next year when the lawsuit is figured out? I want to know.
