Line Anthem: A Tribute

To say the least these ski's opened up a whole new world of skiing for me. Alot of hype was behind them when I was searching what ski's to get for the 07/08 season, so I told the advice of many and made the purchase. The price let alone makes the ski worthwhile, a mere 350 to 375 dollars is a steal for such a ski! As soon as I put my my favorite bindings on them (rossi axis pro 140, with the rotatiing heel and nose*sickest feature ever to be discontinued*) that I've had for 3 years now I knew this set up was going to be unbelieveable. That feeling like all the pieces were fitting together perfectly, only this year they really did! I go to school in Burlington, Vermont so these skis saw snow on thanksgiving, deep snow. Stowe started off the year the earliest they have been able to in 15 years! Not only that, but it was also dumping outside! By this day almost every day I've had on snow at stowe has been a powder day. And every powder day has seen my Line Anthems. Being my first year getting into the woods these skis gave me the confidence I needed. They took me off my first cliffs and helped me plow through tough landings in deep december powder. I felt like I was finally back on my feet after my year and a half hiatus of "taking it easy" after two ski crippling injuries (Torn MCL and Fractured Tibia). This year was the year that I was going to be able to compete with friends again and be able to play around everywhere without the thoughtof those injuries in the back of my head. However, yet again my season has been put on hold by powers out of my hands. This past night I went to my home mountain of ski bradford, MA to get a few turns in with my friends while on my winter break. When we were packing up to leave the mountain I noticed my ski's wernt where I put them. Not only that but they were missing all together! My stomache dropped, one of the worst things that could ever happen did. My ski's were stolen during the 5 minutes I went into the lodge to take off my boots. I couldnt, and still can't, believe it. The first pair of skis that I could not find a single flaw in, not a single thing to complain about, were gone. What a bummer. All I could thing about was my last run on them that my friends and I took on the bunny slope. My last 15 minutes on them were spent lapping 3 small mounds of snow accessed by a tow rope. All the rest of the mountain was closed for the evening so we tried to squeeze in as much skiing as we could. It was the beggining of the big plans we had for winter break, all the urban rail we had lined up, all the mountains we were taking trips to, and even all the backyard shenanigans that would ensue. We were just having fun and enjoying all the brand new snow that most years would not even be present right now. We it was time to leave I remeber looking down at those skis and being all smiles. I'm still going to try to go through with my plans by borrowing others skis and starting to save up money to get those skis again. More than anything I'd like to thank line for making them, and to everyone on here that suggested them as such a great ski. I'm not mad or sad, I'm just disappointed that's how they ended up leaving my possession. Anyone I've skied with could tell you how much good stuff i've said about these skis. Please,to the reader, don't sink that low. Thats probably the most devastating piece of equipment you could steal from a skier. Im sorry some people do that. And I hope they show up somewhere.

If you live on the east coast, NH,VT,ME,MA,Ct, or NJ, or other areas around those please keep a look out. They are 178 Anthems with scott stickers on them. One ski has a red circle sticker for a tall tee on the heel piece of a pole binding, and the brake tops where the heel of your boot comes down on are colored, one is green and one is red. they are slightly beat up but not to bad. This was my dream set up. Please if you find or see them make an effort to contact me or approach the person. Thanks for hearing me out NS, I know this was long, but I knew you guys would be the best people to tell.

Thanks and I hope non of you have to experience this,

Mski

Thats terrible, im really sorry that happend. I also go to school in Burlington and live on the north shore of Boston so i will deff keep an eye out. Hopefully someone can help you out, unfortunately i dont have any old park skis to donate. Good luck..

Sorry to hear about that.

Ski thieves have no souls, and should be beaten mercilessly with ski boots when caught.

bummer dude. sorry to hear that happened. i had a close call once, but they turned up. stay optimistic and hope that you see them. check with your local shops and inform them of it so their on the lookout as well. people tend to try out their stolen loot and it shows up a lot. (there was a thread like this going on and the guy saw the goggles that were stolen)

haha yah I saw that thread. So ironic that this stuff happens alot at about the same times for people. Im going to go into play it again sports and tell them to keep a look out because that place is most likely to see them. Ski Bradford has some pretty sketchy characters that dirst around that area just looking to do that. I should have know to be more careful.

that really sucks dude..i hate people who steal...dont these mother fuckers know the commandment "thou shall not steal"!?!?!?

Thats a bummer dude i dunno what i would do if my skis got stolen that would suck, you should send your story to line there a super core ski company and who knows maybe they would give you a killer deal or something on a new pair of anthems

Fuck man, that sucks. I hope they find the bastard who did this and sodomize him with the heelpiece of a px12

i got my new board and bindings this year stolen before i even got to strap into it, seriously i had seen it once never even stepped on it.;. people who take shit are gay. but fortunately for me it was taken by a friend of a friend of a friend so im getting it back soon, i hope they turn up man.

hes not lying, he really did rave about these skis the entire time they were on his feet. thats really shitty though dude, hopefully you find them. what are you going to ride in the mean time though?

wow man that sucks. stealing is definitely one of the gayest things a person can do besides sodomy. fuck dude that is not cool.

Aww man, I feel so bad for you dude, I know exactly what it feels like. This past summer I had my mountain bike stolen from whistler. The bike was almost 3 g's, and I had saved up for basically a year to get it. Whenever I hear about someones skis or bike or whatever getting stolen, I just can't stand it. These people that steal shit, they just don't understand what the stuff means to people, and how hard they worked to get the stuff. Fuck, now I'm getting all riled up. Anyways, just keep lookin up man, mabey they'll turn up. If not, hopefully you'll be able to get another pair soon.

mski buddy! noooooo. whoever stole your skis is a heartless individual.

I too can vouch for mski's love for these planks. Every moment he was on them was bliss for him, and he was definitely putting his memories of injury to rest. The ski thief deserves to be shot on spot for putting such a big cloud over matt's season.

OMG SO LIKE I HAVE THOSE SKIS AND I LIKE THEM BUT IM TO LAZY TO READ EVERYTHING IN THE THREAD BUT THEYRE REALL NIGTASTIC

^the short story is that his awesome skis got stolen, and it sucks! sorrry dude, best of luck finding them!

THAT sucks man. Sounds like your keeping your wittttts about you as well. What an asshole for stealing your pride and joy. Ill keep a look out for them here in Europe!

Bummer man. Ski-thieves suck.

Keep a lookout for them, and watch ebay. Hope you recorded your serial number so you can prove they are yours if you find them.

somebody jacked my trouble makers out of my roof rack at sugarloaf the other day, i hope the person that stole them gets cancer

If someone ever stole my skis I wouldn't know what to do. I'm not sure I could forgive them.

The other day skiing at PC it was like 10 degrees and my friends were cold and so when we got off the lift they all hooked a left to the lodge and I went right. They asked me where I was going, and I just looked at them and said, "I wont have my skis stolen."-I probably wont visit the lodge once this season, because I don't want to experience that.

ya, send your story to line. The guys there are fucking awesome people and will probally help you out.

really sorry to hear about it, hope they turn up.

i bet you'll lock your skis from now on. I do since i had to buy them with my own money... They kinda change in meaning when you buy them yourself. lock those babies.

the point he's trying to make though, is that you shouldnt HAVE to lock skis. skiing is all about fun, and it shouldnt' be a battle to keep all of your equipment

(insert commment about a burning building and a rusty tuna can here)

im so sorry send that to line they are awesome!

and if you have some anthems you dont want have a heart give them away to a great cause.

i feel for you.

i wont be so upset if i got my shit stole, its a good idea to invest in a ski lock, as gay as it may sound it well save a lot of hartacke and money, not to mention when you come around the coner and see someone tryin to figure out the comonation and beat there face in.

matthew!  you should have come up to slide rails here, then none of this would have happened!!

if it makes you feel any better, i just broke a pair of skis that werent mine.  ive yet to tell the rightful owner.  not looking forward to it.

ill keep an eye out and clobber anyone who looks suspicious!

It's happened with me too. Putting a pair of skis down for 5 minutes to go grab my new season's pass at the kiosk, I asked my buddy to just stand by 'em and naturally he gets distracted and wanders about 50 feet away. I come back out and my MSP's are gone! I know that feeling well, and like you said my stomach dropped, I was mostly upset because they had been right under my nose - like I could see them if I walked 10 feet towards the window and looked to the side.

And also a few seasons ago my dragon's got stolen right off my helmet. Yeah I've lost faith in humanity.

best response to a thread like this i've ever seen. props, mang. way to set an example of how this community is SUPPOSED to work.

sorry to hear your skis were taken :( check with your homeowners insurance.

thats horrible sorry for your loss man

we have alot of sketchy ppl round my hill too, i always keep my gear right by me, we spend more time tailgating in the parking lot than in the lodge tho usually and if we do go in someone usually stays with the gear to keep an eye on it. sux but unfortuatly you cant trust ppl these days

wow 4 days before christmas, such a bad feeling.

fucking pricks.

i'm getting new skis for christmas and the first thing i'm doing when i get to the hill is buying a lock.

if somebody steals my anthems, they will be sorry. due to the fact that i'm the only person in the whole fucking country that has 07/08 anthems 178 and the freeski comunity here is pretty tight.

gahhhh LAME

glad to hear you liked them though I think i'm gonna scoop up some anthems when I get back to utah. we can share if you want!

supper lame, my life would't be the same, and it seems like that already starting to you man, to bad to hear that and good luck in the recovery

I know how you feel about getting something you were attached to stolen. My ipod was stolen, I know its not nearly as bad as stolen skis but I used to listen to it every day as much as I could but now without it there is like a void because I can't listen to my favorite tunes until I can can up with enough cash to buy a new one. So I hope you find you'r skis. I know if my skis were stolen and I found the guy who did I would beat him down with the skis he stole.
