Ok well, i can get get a barely used pair of 09-10 line a bangs and px jib 12 bindings for 250. The thing is my parents wont let me have them, even if i pay 100% of it. They don't believe they are good, durable skis. So it would be great if everyone would just comment if you think its worth it and if you think afterbangs are sick skis. K+++

what i said kinda made no sense. they wont let me buy them because they think there not good and a waste of money, so i need people to say there a waste of money

Tell them they retail for 350, other than that you can't convince them, unless they believe people on a forum. Then they're just dumb.

Or are you trying to convince yourself that they're good skis?

From what I hear, they're durable, but not when it comes to superficial scratches and bang ups.

Pretty heavy. Are built like a skateboard. Flamboyant graphics. Symmetrical. Good flex.

Yeah, just watch the video.

a little heavy, but their bombproof... there is no way you will have edges tearing out or delamination unless your skiing urban a LOT and landing on the pavement. you will forsure get a couple years out of em if your just hitting jumps and rails in the park. also tell your parents that line is really good about their warranty, if these things come apart on you within a year you can swap em out. good luck bro!

Why not just show them the line website, how they explain everything, and show edits of people skiing them, such as andy or whoever shreds em

its a heavy set up but work your legs at the gym or go for a run every other day and they will be fine. i love the px 12 jibs they are so nice even though they are heavy

i dont notice the heaviness.. There descent skis, and for $250, go for it. They are extremely durable, for i have no gone through an entire season, + preason jibbing on like grass and concrete. There bases can get slow, and yea you do get lots of chips, but you dont notice them after like the first two weeks of riding. Plus the symmetrical flex gives the ski a good feel to skiing switch and such

Show your parents the line product video on youtube... they are made to be the most durable skis out there and thats exactly what the video states... they hav had there team test them over and over on some of the hardest terrain you can put a ski through and they still hold up.

same thing happened to me when i was your age. Just tell them what's up and show them that there are better skis out there then that guy at the shop told you would be "perfect" for you.

Glad my parents aren't like this... but I had the A-bangs and they arent that heavy (and Im only 130lbs). They scratch easily, but who cares, they are great for rails and smaller/med jumps. Obviously not built for powder, but on groomed/park youll be good

Just go and buy them anyway and tell them to fuck off? What are they going to do if you just go buy them, take them away from you? Just take their car keys if they do.

Show them their promotional video on Lineskis's website or show them all the good reviews they have gotten (no need to show them the bad reviews) solid park skis AND bindings for 250 is an awesome deal.

Well, if one of your parents is into specs and tech, explain the details of how their built, why it's a good deal (bindings and skis normally >$25), and why they would be a good investment.
My dad is 50X more likely to invest or purchase a product if he know's the research and specs of a product. Parents like to know your not just wanting something just because they're skis, but rather because it's a good investment.
My 2 cents
Also, I know first hand Afterbangs are a fantastic investment.

line afterbangs are a sick ski. they might get a little dinged up but thats only cosmetic and wont affect their performance. do not pollute your afterbangs with px 12 though. they are the shittiest bindings on the planet. they are not meant for jibbing, even though they do have the word jib in them.

skis and bindings combined would be around $500 if you paid close to retail. barely used for half off? get them.

just show your parents reviews of the skis, the company, and the line site. $250 for skis and bindings that dont show much wear is a steal.

i think the px 12s are sweet. they will most likely never prerelease on you because of their elastic travel. its a good set up u got there

like other people said just show them the edits and all the tech stuff. make sure you show them the one where i think its garret russel skis down the rock. that shows how bombproof they are. i have ythem and they are amazing skis

mine have prereleased in the past, then i got fks's. ive met so many people whove had problems with those bindings. its a good deal, im just saying those bindings might explode. lots of people put water bottles to hold them in place once theyve fucked up and gone off the track though.

meh but the price is sick.

i personally rode them last year, and they really are bombproof. i beat the shit outta them and they barely show wear and tear. only one core shot that was real small.

thought they lost a little bit of pop by the end of the season though. super sick ski though.

THey are one of the best deals in skis. They are durable, cheap, and made by line which is a fantastic company. They are heavy though so hit the gym if you want to be able to toss them around like you need to in park skiing.

do I what I used to do. just have them come into your room one day and see them there and say "sorry mommy". they can't MAKE you return them. they just can just ground you. hahaha.

so worth it. even if they didnt come with bindings id say go for it.id say just buy them regardless what they say. talk them into it while showing them the ski you bought against their decisions. but like everyone else said. line skis are bombproof. you can beat the shit out of them and they will still last you a couple seasons. i know a kid with chronics from like 3 years ago which havnt been tuned or anything and he shreds.

my parents werent stoked on me buying line anthems last year, they were used but not really used, came with px12 jibs. they are super sick. im older though and i can buy what i want. they were a lot cooler with it once i told them that they were a part of k2 because k2 is a household name, and are a large enough company with enough money to feel confident in their warrenty

Just tell your parents its realy cheap see if you pay for most if they will pay for some and try getting a deal from a shop possibly.

I have had a completly different experience. On my step ups the bases are hands down horrible. Not only are they slow but i got this 20 inch about digger in my bases that goes up to the edge. I got it from riding a couple park laps at night no idea how it happened. Other than the base i like em.

i still have chronics from 05/06 that have about 250 days on them that are still in pretty solid condition. 2 repaired core shots 1 per ski, and i also chipped through the top sheet down to the core which i just coated with epoxy to seal. all of which were my own fault not any issue with the ski. i just bought their replacements though
